Using string of the same thickness is DEFINITELY helpful, but I've found its not needed if you control your knot tension. So if you have a thicker string, tie the knot tighter, and if you have a thinner string, tie the knot slightly looser. I'm not saying you should use like really thick string or yarn with super thin embroidery floss, but for me, it's not that big of a deal if my strings aren't super close thickness.

Thank you so much for this video! I recently started loosing up my knots and I’m telling you it’s a dream come true!!! My alphas actually wobbly! my old alphas were SO tight I couldn’t wear them because it just lay in a straight line since it was so tight it wouldn’t bend, my recent order on my Etsy I made looser and I’ve never been more happy with my alphas, thank you so much Masha you’re a life saver!!!! 🥰❤️

I completely agree with the knot tension you talked about! I've only been making bracelets for nearly a year, but my first two or three alphas were quite inconsistent and messy and then i made a keyring and tried to loosen my knots and it worked so well! I still need some more practise though 😅

The flat alpha method is perfect, and I have said this before thanks for making the video about it. The first time I made an alpha bracelet I made it for my bff's birthday, the edges were almost straight but did have curves and i started another one which went hilarious and I untied it, after that I learned the flat alpha technic and I used it while making another alpha for another friend it became amazing, and now I'm in love with alphas thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Have you ever tried reverse knotting? I'd love to see your take on it. Basically what would normally be the back becomes the front and your strings get tucked over the "front" side. I think they turn out more pixel-y. Some people call it upside down knotting.

How can i keep switching colors while i do the striaght edge technique...? I can't change my colors for the next row when i want to use the straight edge technique... can somebody help me on that?
@sadiec3727
@sadiec3727 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah ! So you actually have to do two backward forward knots/ forward backward knots on the edge string. So the first one with the color of the first row, and the second one for the color switch and the start of the next row. ( you do two knots even if you don’t have a color switch)

i’m going to actually be doing the planet one😂 would you still recommend the flat alpha technique or just doing the bracelet normal with straight edges? i’ve never used the flat alpha technique.. any done it and recommend or mash ma do you still so for other people?
@harukastorm4
@harukastorm4 4 жыл бұрын
With the Flat alpha technique it is definitely easyer to get a realy flat and straight bracelet. I personally like it way more than the "normal" way of tying. (The only thing is that it needs a little bit of training so that it gets less often that a color peaks through where it goes to the back). And you can do the straight edge technique either way, with or without the flat alpha technique.

I just started making alphas, and I didn't know about the flat alpha technique when I made my first one (it was an uno reverse card). However, I learned about it a couple days ago, and I decided to make another uno reverse card - its already coming out better! I definitely recommend it.

I have an idea of a bracelet that i want to make but I have no clue how to make a pattern. Im thinking like just a bunch of solid coloured little squares, all the same size that rotates between 5 colours. Almost like a patchwork style. This is so random and made no sense but if anyone has pattern like that please let me know!
