@makebigfilms This was really great and informative. I am a AE junkie for my videos and so this came in very helpful to watch. I really enjoyed the explanation and simplicity of it all. This just goes to show how AI can have some great benefits to speed up work flows and to help you as an artist. Loved how you explained it in detail.

Just start a 1st year in a vfx school and this help me to jump further in the program of the year lol. Rotoscoping can be very handy if you don't have enought blue or green screen

Thanks for doing this. I watched the promo from AEScript when this was launched and, like so many of their launches was very confused about how this would work/what it would do! Not quite the answer to a digital artist’s dream. This plugin, like “Goodbye Greenscreen” and Runway’s background removal tool are still in their infancy. As such all of these tools vary in their effectiveness. Common to all automated to semi-automated video background removal tools is the length of clip the removal works on, and the relative isolation of the object you wish to cut out.

Good for simple rotos or quick shots where nothing is too complex, but the lack of refinement tools and almost oversimplicity of it makes it a deal breaker for any kind of professional work.

@@DE-signYourLife At that point you are doing everything yourself 😉 I think AE's Roto Brush 3 is a major upgrade and for more serious work I d work with Boris Silhouette.

It crashes for me 99% of the time making it unusable. But based off that 1% that I got to use it for I'd prefer it over roto brush...if it worked.

how does this compare to Davinci Resolve Roto? I Downloaded the trial and it doesn't compare to the built in roto in Davinci at all:( It just sat there. Davinci did it in seconds.

This plug-in is too Resource demanding. My laptop and even my desktop always lags when I use it and I have to revert back to rotobrush😢

Not good enough yet. These tools are easy and fast for slaps, but this utterly fails at pro level work. Unless you want to have you comps fail in QC over and over again, roto and TLC is what you need. Even when a shot is perfect looking, you will find that client side supervisors on big shows will ask for EVERY lost pixel. and when you think you have recovered every last detail, they will ask for more.

The only thing that plugin is killing is my precious time. That mask is jittery AF. Not even worth testing it if that is the best you can do in a demo. It is a pass for me.
