Be sure the shiny, plastic side of the freezer is facing your paper and only ever allow your iron to touch the dull, paper like side. The plastic will melt to your iron if you don’t put the shiny side to the paper and that creates a huge mess on your iron!!! It’s very easy to tell which side is which!

Thank you, Lindsay, for the shout-out! I had frankly forgotten I told you about this technique, until I saw the title of your video. I wondered then if I had inspired you, & I did! :) I'm so excited right now!!! :D I have only ever used freezer paper with watercolor, so I never even thought of doing ink blending. Cool how well it works with that! I also love your color combos. The one with the fairy makes me think of a sunset over the sea, especially the way you oriented it. I never would have thought to put Dried Marigold & Cracked Pistachio together either, but they came out so pretty. I am not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but since one of the commenters asked, you might want to pin a comment here about the need to have the plastic coated side of the freezer paper facing the paper/cardstock--if only to emphasize the point. Anyway, thank you for sharing this & making my day! Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

Yes! I don’t think I explained it well enough in the video about the plastic shiny side needing to face the paper, so I will pin a comment to the top!! And thank you so much for the tip/idea about this technique!!! It truly does work sooo incredibly well!!!! As always you are right on with your advice!!!!

I'm a !little embarrassed to admit this but I have always used freezer paper when painting....well at least for several last years. I hate the clean up after acrylic painting so I decided to use freezer paper instead of palette paper since palette paper can be pricey. I don't remember if I got the idea on KZfaq or what BUT if was so much more economical and it worked just the same. So now after watching this, I am so much more excited!!!!! I have another use for my freezer paper.' I love the fairies and I bought the plastic decals but they are near impossible to attach to the inside of the glass. I have tried just about everything...even just taping it for days. The decals will pop right back to their curves really easily even then. I would like to "transfer the image" but I am afraid that the paper that I use might degrade after time or even right away with the moisture from the glue and the use. I am thinking..and or wondering what would be the best paper and what could I seal it with so that it would not degrade? If I went this way I could adjust the sizes of the fairies as well. I love when medias are combines. I am beginning to see the possibilities and the fun of it all. Thank you for these ideas! I will always remember them.

I’m assuming you put the shiny side to the paper? This is very cool...
@CraftingWhileCaffeinated

YES!! I don’t think I explained it well enough in the video. The shiny/plastic side does need to face the paper and not your iron. Only ever iron on the full, paper like side. Thank you so much for watching!!

What an awesome idea!! Does it matter what side of the freeze paper you iron on? Does the coated side need to be face up so the iron is going over the coated side.
@andrealavigne7824
@andrealavigne7824 4 жыл бұрын
Make sure to have the plastic coated side facing the paper. Otherwise, you will be cleaning gunk off your iron, and the freezer paper won't stick to your cardstock/paper. :)

Lindsey, I watched this twice and I still am unsure what side of the Oval you cut goes down on the Cardstock? And, on the 2nd card, I didn't get how or why you used the paper again to cover the entire cardstock panel....A little confused on how you did this.... I'll check out the affiliate link and maybe it's explained in more detail. I love the way these turned out! Really beautiful!

The shiny or plastic coated side of the freezer paper is put down toward the cardstock. The plastic is what melts yo the paper and seals everything out or “masks” it. And on the thanks card I used the oval cut from freezer paper itself to mask an oval area. Then I ink blended around the oval shape. On the fairy card I used to area around the die cut oval that was left over when I die cut the oval. This made an oval opening that I could then watercolor into. I hope that answers your question, if not let me know!!

Sorry, I have absolutely no control over that. I see them on almost every video I watch on KZfaq, too. Plus I live in Iowa and they’re a constant here, on radio and TV. It’s annoying, I get it, but unfortunately there’s nothing I can do unless I completely turn off advertisements, which is how I pay myself a TINY amount to make free content. So you would be better off referring your complaint to KZfaq. Because until they change, there’s nothing I can do.
