We get a chance to remove as many squirrels as we can as per a land owners request. He DESPERATELY needed our help. The property is overrun with squirrels and this time, ITS MASON & the .30 AMERICANA's TURN!

Awesome father and son experience. I love shooting with my son as I did with my dad. There is nothing in this world that can ever replace those memories. My dad passed away on March 26 of this year. Covid related. Seeing you shooting with your son are cherishable moments that can never be erased or replaced. Great job dad! I love it!

Good trigger discipline: Any distraction and the finger is lifted off completely. The way it should be. Also, the lack of hesitation is good. Maybe rushing one or two shots, but not wasting time like group shooters tend to do.

Don't know how much you pest/hunt but HAWK, stars don't always line up. Please don't tell me you have a 100% headshot hit ratio when pesting/hunting small game out as far as we do. I think he is doing pretty well for a kid shooting at something the size of an egg. But thanks

Wow! That is indeed brutal to those nasty pests. It is sad thing to have to dispatch any living things but a depradation hunt is likely the most effective and also most environmentally responsible way of eradication of this menace. The land user should be grateful for the hours spent to selectively eradicate the overpopulation of these nuisance and destructive pests. I am somewhat surprised that those JSB .30 cal Hades don't inflict greater damage or more instantaneous kills. I suppose still not enough energy or velocity to generate enough of a shockwave to put this critters down instaneously? I must admit that ground squirrels are indeed a very hardy beast and many times at distance it is hard to confirm kills because they will indeed dive back down underground. I use to shoot these guys back in the days around the Chino Corona area with a Remington 700 in 220swift and also with a TC Contender in .223. I found that the 45gr Hornady SX bullet to be an excellent choice. The thin copper jacket and very soft exposed Lead at a maximum of about 2400fps just below the point of the bullet vaporizing in flight. The Little SX round was very accurate and it just liquify at impact and literally smoke the target in a vaporous explosion. Many times I could shoot just below or in front of any burrowing pest and the low shot would adequately spray the target and create enough destruction to stop them in their tracks before they have a chance to duck back into the hole. Just devastating. We sat at 200 yrds across a valley in the Norco Hills back before it was developed (remember Corona Raceway?) We knocked off over 140 of these varmints in probably about 3 hours one afternoon from the adjacent hill, using Hornady .223 (not ,224) SX bullets in a TC Contender with Super 14 Bull barrel and a Leaupold 8X ER Good times indeed!

Good observation and yes, airguns simply don't make the speed/fpe required to mutilate flesh like a 223 or 220 swift would. I did not grow up in Cali but I understand what your saying about hunting in undeveloped Corona/Riverside. Must have been something back then because its not like that today....lol
@southboundsuarez98322 жыл бұрын
@@Tofazfou Good grief it certainly isn't these days! It's hard to imagine! Hardly many places to responsibly use a decent air rifle these days! Growth and develop indeed sucks! Definately overpopulated. We have to put up with the bad to enjoy the goodness of living in this great state. Others may bash our Cali lifestyle but wouldn't want to live permanently anywhere else. Thanks for keeping the sport alive and well from Cali !

Distinct hiss sound the hades make as they swing to the target. Honestly…if I shoot 30cal pellets, I’m shooting past 100y.
