In today's video we are going to share a full honest review of our brunch at the Mason Jar - Southern Restaurant.This is a Royal Caribbean specialty dining restaurant that costs extra onboard their Wonder of the Seas cruise ship up on deck 15 next to the Windjammer. We'll share all the food and drinks we tried and rate each item on a scale of 1 to 10 so you know what to order if you dine here. We'll also share the overall ambiance, service and if we think this restaurant it worth it or not for you to spend extra money on during your vacation. ohhh strong drinks can be fun 😂... after one of those strong drinks I have a feeling the others may taste a little better? It really is a cute place and their drinks are pretty. WOW! Now the food LOOKS incredible, but what a bummer to hear what it tasted like. Honestly the title of this video surprised me because you are so positive, Meg! I used to love strong drinks back when I used to drink. We would get them just for the potency. I'd then probably end up getting kicked off the ship. "If you like alcohol" as in rubbing alcohol? 😂 The jalapeño cornbread with pimento cheese sounds really good!! How can you go wrong with all these dishes? Heavy on the onions. That's how. Oof! Worst cinnamon roll! Damn! Cardboard! Whoah! Sucks that your dad's dish got too sweet too fast. This is a proper, eloquent annihilation! I was hoping you wouldn't go rogue and say "This is disgusting ****** bull**** like "some" other vlogger I know!! Lol! Maybe that's why the drinks are so strong. They are hoping you get so drunk that the food starts tasting good. Lol! Awesome, entertaining review!! Sorry it wasn't nearly as good as it looks, but a great warning for people looking to cruise with this line of ships.

Now I’m glad we didn’t go to the mason jar on wonder of the seas. If the cornbread is the highlight you know something has got to be wrong lol. I don’t remember you guys saying many negative things about any of the places you go so that alone is a testament of how poor that specialty restaurant must be . Everything did look good though if that counts for anything, and at least you liked the service. Thanks for the heads up in case I ever go back on the WOS. Left you a like Meg . See you next time

Yes the cornbread being the highlight is concerning haha! We hardly ever say negative things, or at least really rare if all meals we had we didn’t recommend. Thanks for sharing an honest and thorough review of this restaurant. Love a good mint julep, but I'm not a fan of overly strong drinks either, but Dave would probably love it. No surprise with lots of bourbon and moonshine drinks for a southern themed restaurant. The cornbread sounded delicious with the mix of jalapeño and pimento. Bummer about the biscuits and gravy, those are a southern staple, sad to hear they missed the mark on those and some of the other dishes too. That cinnamon roll looked amazing, so sad to hear it was dry, that is crazy and a huge bummer.

Well, this doesn't sound great. It is a shame that this brunch costs extra on top of the cost of the cruise and then is not good at all. And it is a shame that they have such great views from the windows but not great food to go with it. Thanks for giving everyone a heads up about brunch at Mason Jar. It is always good to hear an honest opinion about places and experiences people have in their travels.

I love brunch and would so disappointed if it wasn't fantastic. The theming and views are fantastic. I prefer less-strong drinks too, especially if I'm eating. The menu looked great, shame the food didn't stand up to expectations. OMG that cinnamon roll! How can that not be good??!! What a letdown. Boo! Shame it's specialty dining and you have to pay extra. Thanks for sharing and being honest.

Hi Meg & Greg! Oh dear! What a shame the food in the restaurant didn't live up to expectations. There was a nice ambiance and good service, which was important. However, if the food was not up to standard, then it would not be somewhere to re-visit. Thank you for your honest review. It gives people considering whether to book this expensive restaurant pause for thought. Well that different, normally they dont put enough liquor in the drinks, never too much lol. Sorry the brunch was a let down, it did all look beautiful, glad the ambiance was nice though. I know yall dont want to leave a bad review, its hard, but its a great video for people to watch and then they can make a decision based on yall experience. Great informative video as always!

I’m picking up some big time Dollywood vibes from this place! 😍 Culinary offerings aside, the theming is a nice touch. I love that they actually do serve water and some other drinks in literal mason jars. The chicken and waffles looked _delicious_ - absolutely tragic that the food didn’t taste as good as it looked, but at least that particular dish wasn’t _as_ big of a disappointment. I can’t quite remember; did you all do a Tennessee Moonshine tasting while you were in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area? I feel like once you have some of the 90-proof flavors that taste like straightup gasoline, you’d probably barely notice the strength of the PB Old Fashioned haha but this was definitely a helpful video, even though your breakfast didn’t turn out to be as good as you might have hoped. What a lovely drink! It looks so beautiful decorated, but very strong. The dining hall is fantastic, to take a good meal by the sea, super gorgeous! What? There's not so good food on a cruise? Say it ain't so!! I'm not a drinker, so couldn't say one way or the other on that, but it did look like a tad bit too much cream cheese on that cinnamon roll, and not thick enough either! Indeed, I have always given top thanks and ratings to all the cruise staff...can't imagine doing what they do with a smile on their faces for months and months on end. We love the cruise staff! They always go so above and beyond and have such a hard job. They were still one of the highlights of the meal for sure! I'm not a super big fan of mint either, but probably would have ordered the mint julip if I was at a country restaurant too. Southern food isn't probably my favorite genre of food, so we probably wouldn't have gone there anyways. I find chicken for breakfast to be so weird. lol Since we don't go to pay restaurants on the cruises very often, we definitely won't try here as we would be so disappointed to pay for food and find it not good. Yes 🙌🏼 you definitely need to like alcohol 🥃 and bourbon for old fashions. I do really like them and they are definitely sipper drinks haha. So disappointing that The Mason Jar didn’t live up to the anticipation of trying it. It’s good that the atmosphere and service were stellar but the food was a downer. The chicken and waffles did look good. We would probably skip this one on your recommendation if we ever sail RC. Awesome review as always 😊💕

You've shared great information! It sounds like ordering a lighter drink it a good option. Jalapeño corn bread looks amazing. All buttery and fresh, wooooww~ yum. I don't know why the chicken and waffle combo doesn't seem to be catching on here in Canada, it looks very appetizing. Too bad some of the items weren't as good as they looked. Very helpful (and fun!) review. Enjoyed 👌👌👍🥰🥰😋😋

Nice share. I would have liked the biscuits and gravy. I like eating just about anything. For me the atmosphere and service of a restaurant is more important than the food, provided the price matches the food expectations. Need to relax while eating. Thanks my friends. 😋

You're on vacation so every hour is 5pm, so don't worry about showing up at 11 to have a drink or two! Shame about the food - but this is important information to pass on as others would likely feel exactly the same way.

Oh no!! I’m sorry you’ll didn’t enjoy your brunch as much as you thought you would. The restaurant theming looks to be very cozy and welcoming. No judgement here drinking at 11am. While on vacation I will most certainly have an espresso martini for breakfast 😂. The peanut butter and jelly old fashioned sounded interesting however if a drink is TOO strong it is tough to enjoy it. The cornbread did look tasty! I LOVE moonshine so I definitely would’ve ordered the Mississippi Moonshine. The items on the menu all looked SO good. I would’ve ordered the chicken & waffles or red velvet pancakes. I LOVE red velvet everything. All the meals looked yummy however, it was unfortunate they did not live up to their looks. Cinnamon roll that tastes like cardboard is no bueno. Thank you for being transparent and for your honest review 👍🏻👍🏻

lol I think we were a bit of babies with the alcohol drinks 😂 but the corn bread was so good and the moonshine drink too. It was too bad the meal itself was disappointing, but that happens. I’m a huge red velvet fan too so this was a let down for me haha. Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it! 😊

Whoa the cinnamon roll 🫨😁. Most everything in these restaurants are excellent. Great to hear an honest review of the Mason Jar. I've seen it before but never tried it. We sailed on The Wonder of the Seas around time it was first launched. I hope they lower the prices soon so we can go again.

Hi guys this is a great looking restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean! Boy those cocktails sound strong but fab! Why did Greg order mint if he doesn’t like mint 😂 don’t think we have ever tried corn bread! Oh no Greg’s face says it all! Everything looks a little too sweet for us! No this was a true review the food didn’t look the best! You did this great guys such a shame looks a lovely place! Note just visit here if you want strong cocktails 😂 great review guys! ❤️

Southern comfort food now that would attract us in! Haha do like the theming around this restaurant. Those bourbon cocktails sound right up our street! Those little pb&j sandwiches were so cute but a shame they were stale 😂haha the syrup jars are cute 😂 such a shame the food looks better than it tastes cos just looks alone it would make us want to go there! 0 for the biscuits ouch! Greg is awesome he is always very honest. Cardboard cinnamon roll 😳. The cheese was not melted what’s up with that? The chicken and waffles were ok but not great eh! The review was great honesty being honest about your experience is a must. We all know that everyone has different taste and experience and this was what you and your family experienced . At least the crew were doing their best to make the experience a good one . Still the food is where they should have shined along with the service. It's fun that you can get different drinks at this bar and restaurant, although it doesn't sound like you enjoyed them. Shame you didn't like most of the food, especially as it's a specialty restaurant. We too love cinnamon rolls so would be gutted if it was so bad.

Hi Meg and Greg, OMGoodness, this is one of only few you two totally ended up negative on the outcome. Hmm are you a big fun of the Southern Comfort dishes? I am not fond of grease fried nor gravy. So probably I did even try to visit. My favorite is seafood! hahah. did you see any on the menu? As you mentioned, the presentation seems a lot better than their taste. I guess you have to get drank enough not to teste them? hahah. I would really appreciate your honest review. Well done. I appreciate everything you have been showcasing in the films. Happy Easter!

I think all those people would put me off straight away. I might also make me need a drink at 11am. Whilst the food looked great it sounded pretty poor going down the neck. Then again it did all look a bit overly sweet for my taste. I might need to wash it down with one of those burning cocktails. I take it you only went there once judging from your review 🙂
