MASON’S MEDIEVAL MADNESS
Chapter II - A Wee Slab
Mason Ho had a goal this trip and it was to return to a wee slab he once surfed about 10 years ago with no cameras around. He was in town with his Uncle Sunny Garcia and Chris Ward when they all noticed this wave. While watching it Mason mentioned the wave might be rideable. That’s when Wardo and Uncle Sunny made a simple bet with Mason and it was… “Let’s see it!”
This was day 1 of our trip. Stay tuned next week for Mason's full POV experience from his GoPro 10.

Watching Mason Ho, grinding his fins to shreds in knee deep water after coming out of gouging North Sea Barrels while the filmer listens to Afro beat on BBC Scotland radio is strangely soothing.

Seeing Mace in a full wetsuit with hood and booties made me chuckle, but watching him get slotted on these zippers SO close to the slab shoreline made me shake my head in amazement. NO ONE surfs exposed rock spots better. I would have broken my board in half or busted the skegs off for sure lol

Look like almost dry land surfing so shallow!!Well surfed for sure!! Then going out with the sawed off Hawaii special, that's the kind of board I had when I was a kid!!Amazing surfing!!

Remember that scene in The Blueprint where ShaneO is surfing this slab on dry reef and Pat O'Connell and some other guys are watching him and Pat is all worried like, "if he had caught his outside rail I thought he was gonna go backwards with his head on the reef!" ? That's just every other wave for Mason.

Funny you should say that - Red Bull made a video about bodyboarder Ben Player surfing this exact spot at 6-8ft and made a big deal about how shallow and dangerous it is. So they made him this futuristic helmet and had 'armour' attachments to his wetty for knees and elbows. Some of the barrels from that session are fucking insane. Mason would go.
