Man the whole battle from 9:55 to 10:30 was the best moment in the series imo. I'm a sucker for large scale big ship air battles and this definitely scratched this itch. I wish more TvP games went this route.

In game 1 had to go back and check, Classic completely forgot to take the 2 gas geysers at the triangle third for the entire game. I feel that is really what cost him the game, when he is sitting up near max with 5000 minerals and no gas he could have really built up a more effective army with that extra gas income.

I’ve literally never seen a single highlight game where Protoss beats mass BC. The tempests get teleported on every single time, and always lose.

@@dauswq It's rare though. Early game bc's suck and can be blink stalker countered as long as you scout it reasonably early. Late game they are broken. Tempests are supposed to counter them and they are just too slow

BCs are straight up better than carrier for like 70 more resources: a lot more HP, a lot more DPS, an OP ability and another very useful upgrade. BCs need a nerf. But Classic right-clicking vikings with 8 capital ships was fucking painful to watch. Could have killed almost all the viking if he just A-moved...

The first game reminded me of the legacy of the void Protoss when they were surprised by the Terrans WARPING IN! Skytoss Vs SkyTerrain teleportation fights were awesome.

Utermal recently had a similar stand of on this map with battle cruisers & mines vs tempest 😂. I think it was one of the longest games he had.

classic had a small window to do some real damage when he baited the bc warp at the end and then teleported to his mothership, and then he chickened out and didn't attack even though he knew the BCs couldn't get to him. like, why hesitate if you know your window is small and you'll lose if you don't take it. in that situation you just say fuck it and commit.

widow mines scouted the committed attack and he may have known about it I think he didn't think of clearing them bc they pretty much acted as terran observers this whole fight

@@ElkaPME irrelevant. the bait worked and the BCs used their warp so they were stuck across the map. doesn't matter if the mines are there to spot - you dive in and fuck as much shit up as you can. guaranteed he loses anyway so no point retreating.

Man I really hate that late game skytoss is not capable of fighting terran. Only chance of winning is by a million run by's or perfect spellcasting, while battlecruiser/viking just win these battles on their own...

Mass Tempest works if you take a slow approach, shoot the kite back to the base with battery. Recall if get jumped on, remember Protoss has 2 recall vs 1 teleport from BCs so they can realistically dodge the BCs forever. But amove into BC with TEmpest is just bad.

Something that's been driving me crazy for ages and I can't find any answers online. What are the weird mesh/grid things on the floor like at the bottom right at 0:07 I see them on so many maps and they always look out of place so I assume they're a bug, but how do so many map creators allow those bugs to remain in the final version?

If you have 10k minerals why throw it away on mass zealot vs battle cruiser when he could make 50 cannons and 20 batteries to secure his expansions and gas income, mass zealot vs BC feels like something you would see on the NA ladder.

yamato cannon from bc's renders static defense worthless - zealots are minerals you can trade into gas production

@@AlexanderVu-qu6zt you need 2 yamatos to kill a cannon, if BC yamatos are wasted on cannons you can destroy them with tempest, without yamato BCs are useless against tempest and get owned even harder than usual. Good luck trying to attack a base that has 20 cannons and 6 shield batteries backed up by tempests.

the Mass Zealot actually did decent damage, its the Carriers fleet that was worthless against the mass BC army. The way most Protoss used to beat this was mass Tempest and trying to snipe the BC one at a time, and just recall to Mothership or base if they get warped on. Its a patient game at that stage, but trying to Amove Carriers into BCs is a big no no no.

@@tigera6 I dont see how the Zealots were anything even close to effiecent, Trading time and huge amount of minerals on delaying Terran income for a while is not really that good. And yes mass tempest is the way to go vs mass BC, uThermal had a great game on his youtube channel where he made mass BC (BC-Mine to GM challenge) with almost no scvs but got destroyed by mass tempest and he did not play against a top protoss player.

@@Lost7one its decent enough if you can clean up all the burrowed mines and not letting them bleed out. The weakness of mass BC is their lack of mobility so you can always do damage elsewhere. Ultimate you still need to fight the BCs but having zealot doing runby like lings is a good tactic overall.

I just cannot grasp how weak Tempest and Carrier are. Some yamatos will kill 5-6 of them easily. Viking's air attack is too strong too. BC will also win one-to-one against Carrier. Very different with SC1 where protoss golden armada overwhelms everything. In SC2, they nerfed protoss so much. Even if accompanied by storm, i don't think it's good enough. It's not a stackable sc1 storm. PvZ, too, is difficult. Z has the hit and run spells especially parasitic bomb and neural. Please give protoss something. Mamaship time warp could be better. Emp should be for protoss but feedback for terran.

its more like BCs are the monster in the Sky unless you have their direct counter, and even that wouldnt work if Terran can get to mass number of BC because they can just yamato and jump out. If there was no BC, Carrier will easily clean up Viking with Storm support.

@@tigera6 true. To add to that, with Carrier being similarly priced as BC (even more expensive with continuous interceptor purchase), Carrier is truly underpowered. BC has Yamato and jump. Why not give jump to Carrier, and make Protoss as the only race with teleport (makes sense!). If we have Carriers with jump, we would see some fun Carrier rush scenarios!

I proved a long time ago that Void rays beat Viking en masse. When his air army fell, if he remaxed on pure Voids (His enemy only had vikings and BCs) he would have destroyed him. What you do is walk the voids in, don't attack. Voids will shoot forward while moving, yeah Vikings will get the first volley off but it's not enough. Alternatively Phoenixes are both supply and cost efficient against both vikings and BCs. But it's closer, and they can't target buildings and are susceptible to Widow Mines, but Carriers are weak to all of the above and Tempests are garbage that should only be built in niche situations, not as a crutch the modern Protoss has. Anyway, once the Voids start getting their beams on you turn them on and it's over for the vikings and/or BCs. Great if you can split the BCs away too by forcing them on to a Zealot runby. They will also destroy bases very quickly.

@@Sangsstuff Only if you attack move in to them, if you move in to them they still attack because they attack in a tight forward cone while moving. Vikings cannot kite this because their attack animation is cancerously slow.

Mass BC is stronger in a straight up fight, but Protoss can out maneuver with more mobile Stalkers and a bigger economy. Disruptors are really good at taking out Tanks and Turrets for free too. It's hard for Terran to take big spread out maps. So turtling and splitting half the map like this with Mass BC is stronger on a map like this, cus it's normally hard to. Do keep in mind that mech is always weaker in the early and mid game. So it makes sense if the endgame is slightly stronger.

You need to kite the Tempest against BCs, like how Skytoss vs BLord-Corruptor, you dont amove your army into that, use revelation and pick unit from afar, run back if you get chased.

You can tell the biasses toward protoss these commentators were making. Calling TY as terran player, calling Classic as Classic, arguing terran OP and have most advantages in late game just because they are designed to have better static defense. Giving an exaggerated remark everytime Classic took over small battle and being quiet to silent when TY accomplished huge win in the battle. They should have been never asked to casting again.

Really? Sounded like they were praising TY a lot and said TY a lot. Idk but Classic felt like the underdog. Definitely worse player and *so I've heard* Protoss has fallen to weakest race. I don't know if that's true or not but Classic was clearly worse not just because he lost but because he literally plays poorly. So maybe they were trying to hype an underdog.
