You nailed the description of this level. You feel the race against time. All of that buildup from ME 1 & 2... Up until their arrival on Earth, you had only known what the Reapers could do in theory. This level is a necessary palate cleanse; but, in many ways, it's no less intense. This music really adds to that tension.

Hmmm... interesting. It may have to do with ME3 being a bit more action-oriented, the music is still great and I sort of get why the music isn't as memorable as ME1. I also think the first game in a series always has a much larger impact on your memory than the second or third, so the nostalgia factor definitely plays a role too. It's probably why they reused a lot of the ME1 and ME2 tracks in the third game.

Only Bethesda, Obsidian and Rockstar know how to fill their open worlds with little details and points of interest, that makes these open worlds worth exploring! Bioware doesn’t!…

Same here... I always start it in the winter so it's cold out when I hit Noveria. Just a little tradition of mine, and I hit Noveria just last night as the first flurries were flying here in PA.

The combat on me3 was the best in the trilogy, the writing was engaging, it had the best character moments in the trilogy, and the citadel dlc is one of the best dlcs of all time. You start off under house arrest, and your shepard is buddy buddy with some random dude called James. But if you want to know more, you'll just have to read the manga. (Not joking. You need to read a comic to get more context) You then, after two full games, are told within the first 2 hours, "the mcguffin is on mars. They discovered more rooms in the library or whatever. Go get it". Its lazy. Anyone who says it is not lazy has very low standards. They had the entirety of ME2 to lead into it, but no. They wanted ME3 to be the best place in the trilogy to start playing. (They said that. Not me) So many issues stem from ME2 not being a proper sequel and ultimately accomplishing nothing for the overall plot. Its not ME3s fault. Honestly it should have been a quadrilogy. Perhaps then they wouldnt have had to do some of the retcons to story elements, such as the genophage and what it actually did to the Krogans. It even tried to tell you who your shepard was with those weird dream sequences. They went from "this is your shepard" to "you're playing a guy named shepard". Then you get little things with regard to game design such as the reduction in 1 on 1 conversations using the dialogue wheel and instead turning into a "click the npc and stand around while your shepard and the npc have a chat". That was a big step back in my eyes. But hey. To each their own. (I will admit I'm irrationally salty they didnt get the original Mordin VA back. I don't think they knew what to do with the plot after me1. ME2 was a great game, but its story was more of a spin off. almost nothing in that game moved the overarching story along from me1 to me3. then me3 was due, and they had so much to tell. ME3's plot was such a heaping pile of shit. with an ending that will go down in gamer history for being so shitty. its honestly crazy. like they discovered reapers in me1. thousands of people fought and died against an actual reaper while defending the citadel. Then for some bullshit reason, they go back to the 'no one believes shepard subplot.' This plot made sense during me1, but was fucking stupid to hold onto in me2. Anyways, my point is the story of me2 wasn't great either

@@jonannon4672 don't disagree with any of that. I really loved Mass Effect 2, but the council using hand gestures with a sense of satire when discussing Reapers was just bizarre. It made zero sense and smacked of lazy writing. I really don't like to criticise on the whole because I adored these games, especially the first and second instalments. It's such a shame what started out as an epic series when out with a whimper.

If you would dive reaaally deep into the lore like me, you would see that trilogy make actually sense. Stupid council was supposed to show you how diplomacy is stupid in game. Because "Daamn bureaucrats!" - Bailey
