We lived in elk Washington and moved in 2020…this year a fire came thru elk and did a lot of damage I heard…thank you Jesus we aren’t there but my heart and prayers go to the ppl affected by it

Yes Ma’am you’re correct 😁 those are pinking shears 😁 my Pinking shears are the SAME WAY! I believe we can put WD 40 on the joint? of the scissors or even sewing machine oil. I think I’m going to give it a try and I’ll let ya know what happens. The other day I had to have my husband help me pull apart a book.... my hands 🤚🏻 usually don’t like to work properly, as well as my right thumb. So I totally get it friend....

Just catching this video now. I love the question about the pinking shears. Yes, they are called pinking shears. Brings me back to my Home Economics class. Circa 1971....When the teacher would look at your seam and if she approved she’d say, “pink and press.” Thanks for the share!💜💜

Yes Ma'am, you have pinking shears. And they are very hard to open and close. God has blessed us so far, no sickness and no damage from hurricanes. Watching the gulf for more threats. So sorry for those suffering from fires and still picking up from Laura. I have relatives affected from that one. I like these mini journals thanks for sharing!

Oregon has the worst smoke and ash in the us. A lot of our family members have been evacuated and scatered all over l live in eugene oregon.your videos have been so helpful to keep our minds occupied. Thank you so much. Jan p andjanis f

E, these are the cutest things ever. I live in Oregon on the west side where all of the fires are. The air quality is hazardous so we have to stay in the house. I stayed at my sons for a couple of days but came home with my things by the door. We have since gone down to a level 1 and things are looking up I think.💖💖

Love these little journalss. Personally I prefer more cut pages rather than so many torn pages. Thats jus me. Especially if they are to sell. Like them to be a little more tailored. Tfs and stay well.🌸

I found you can dye your paper with crepe paper soaked in warm water to draw the colors out. How fun is that! Love your videos

Love these little books. To get the tissue paper to tear more straight use a damp paint brush and gently make a line and it will tear in the area that’s damp Better. I can see these as great little gifts for my lady friends at my Church!!! Thanks

With your thumb issues you might consider getting the pinking blade for a rotary cutter. Good substitute for your pinking shears.

Cute mini journals! Well we dodged another bullet with hurricane Sally. At first it was coming straight to New Orleans. We dodged the two before that one also. I have a cousin in California and she had to evacuate for a while but home now. But air quality is still not good she says.

Yes, Oregon is full of fires :( I spent the last few day at level 1, 1 mile away was level 2 and my co-worker has been at level 3 evacuation. I am back to work today, but the school is full of smoke and the air quality if very bad!!

These are so cute! What do you actually do with them though? They're too pretty to use for making lists or things that I usually use notebooks for. Put pretty sayings in them? I love these and would like to make some for friends but I don't know if they would know what to do with them.

Just a variety of sizes. I just used up scraps.

What size needle do I use? anything slightly thick will make my needle & thread seize up after just a few stitches.

I just use a regular needle. Just a regular sewing needle. Not a large one.

WD 40 and loosen the screw on your pinking shears. That's what I had to do with mine.

question: at around 44:00 you put some vellum printed with music notes on the mini journal - why? it ended up completely covered up. i'm trying to learn collaging, but my ocd keeps screaming 'wasteful' as i overlap stuff. i can handle a book cover with large pieces overlapping slightly, but these smaller items are where i'm really struggling.

Sometimes we do something and we cover it. Everything is not planned we just go one step at a time and sometimes our mind is changed in mid stream. It may not show on the video but you can still see it in real life. Thanks for watching.

@@SCRAPBOOKINGWITHMECRAFTS Thanks for clarifying - i've changed my mind mid-craft before, but it is quite different in quilting and involves a significant amount of time un-quilting. In papercraft, it seems, a mind change involves more glue instead of un-glue.

Do you used a heavy duty needle to sew paper? I have never sewed paper.

Only if the paper is very thick. But if you punch a good home then you can use just a regular needle. I order mine off Amazon you can get a whole pack for little yo nothing. And the last forever.
