Disclaimer: I know nothing about pottery and clay. Question: I am wondering if there is any way you guys have found to polish lines from printing. I saw you dip insides of the cups with possibly more liquid clay to straighten those lines, but what about outside ? Bonus question1: What about painting, when is that done? Before them being put into kiln ? Bonus question 2: Is there any automated way you have found that you can do the coloring ?

Hello there. Did you have a market for all those. In America they won't buy such quantity of style unless your have your friends the restauranteurs. I couldn't get beyond the artistic phase of unique one off ceramics because of the lack of demand. 6yrs studio and farmers markets. Hope all is well

This was a commission job. They were all distributed. For us it was more a test for possibility. Personally I would have given every cup a slight different design to make every single cup unique....

I noticed you mentioned the kiln was a bell kiln. Would you provide the name of manufacturer of the kiln? Thank you.

This is a kiln from Keramikos (Dutch) but the lift construction was made in-house by VormVrij.

These are lutum printers with a bell kiln.

Can it print with any type of clay? I.e can it print with potters earth?

Yes pottersclay can be printed as long as the grogg content is no more than 25% at 0.2mm max particle size!

Sir how much time it will take for making one cup.

in this setup (older printers) it took 12 minutes to print one cup, with new machines it can be done in less than 8 minutes.

Edible clay? We can print foodpastes... If they behave like clay.

@@YaovandenHeerik for example if I had edible clays, which I wanted to turn into bars like the shape of kitkat chocolate?

@@jazzbollywood ok yes, but the kitkat is done in a form. 3dprinting shows lines. The same with mars, there the final layer is hot draped over to get the smooth finish that will be different with 3d printed food...
