Love!! That's an interesting thought about therapists being taught for bodies not to come in contact with clients. I'd actually forgotten about that! My practice integrates a lot of Thai and lomi work and I find the contact helps clients feel comforted💙 thanks for your awesome work

Yeah I've seen a lot of new students being taught that "secondary touch" is not allowed or appropriate, when it is one of the most comforting and essential parts of making sure your client feels cared for and comfortable.

Yep. I was taught that in massage school, however at my place of employment, we'd be fired if we did that.

Some possible fixes for that: If the table is low enough, it can be more of an abdominal/side contact. If that doesn't work, a thin pillow (like for a dining room chair) between you and the client can be the perfect barrier.
