The 1700M Series has been replaced by the 1800M Series. fine looking tractor .. im a proud owner of a 135 Massey UK model ( 1976 ) up here in PEI ,, Canada .. im thinking about a new tractor and this video just made up my mind ... very very nice cab tractor

One thing i wish Massey would do like LS and NH is putting the larger front tires (12 - 16.5) on these when you get to a certain HP

Tires has have to be matched Rolling Circumference based on the engineering design ratio of the Power Front Axle. It's not as simple as changing tires sizes. Power Front Axles must maintain a positive lead when engaged from 0% to 5% faster than the rear tires for it to work. Start messing with tire sizes and you can damage or reduce the life of Power Front Axle. Massey Ferguson does offer 12-16.5 Tire Option on the 1760M with the 18.4-24 Rear Industrial Tire on the Platform or Standard Cab Models.

Nice video. I'm a big fan of the Shibaura-built New Holland tractors, but Massey would probably be my top pick for a new tractor today. Do you find any noticeable comfort difference in the suspended hydro pedals on the 1700 series versus floor mounted pedals from previous series? I have never operated the suspended type.

I personally prefer the Suspended Pedals much easier for me to operate. I can easily pivot my foot on the heal and work between forward & reverse. Plus when you put the eHydro in Electronic Cruise Control the pedals are out of the way and above your feet so you can place your foot anywhere on the floorboard. These are my personal opinions from operating the different versions and models we sell or I have driven.

Between the 1700 /1800 series, 1740, I think I seen a 1760 ,so as far as the full size tractor, what,, is the biggest size that can be matched up with a midmount belly mower, that's the dream, and while I'm asking, with the normal tractor's of the possible 4000 plus series, what's the hp range to pull all those double disc rigs that we see all the farmers around the neighborhood working up all cropland for getting their beans and corn in the ground, is it a 100,200,r 300,350, 400, I've seen the big 4x4 6 n 8 wheel drive tractors pulling double disc rigs, yeah, these guys are working long hours and getting a lot ground work up, and I will say it, our DON'T GET NOT NEARLY ENOUGH RESPECT FOR THEIR EFFORTS, even the food processor facilities and the people keeping the stores, this breaks me up just thinking about it much less talking it, I now shop 4 different stores, for the groceries we need on a daily basis, farming has been given to us BY GOD as a necessity for survival and as necessary evil, farming has to be done, mankind would die without it, farming was meant to be the way it is, farming is like our military, our farmers sacrifice as much as much of their time, as in ,,,above and beyond the call of DUTY, that's as bottom line as it gets,

AMEN on Farmers Feeding the World. Many farmers are now selling direct "Farm to Table" Programs with meat and even produce. Or local farmers markets helps support local farmers. Looks like a very nice tractor. Only thing that would be a concern is the loader hydraulic quick connectors on the side of the tractor loader. Being in the woods a lot, could get snagged on branches. Does Massey sell a protective cover?

I have professional wood cutter using one and has not had a problem with the quick couplers. And he's dented and dinged about every inch of that machine. He said it works better than his skidder. He harvests specialty lumber and selective cutting so he's in the brush harvesting specific trees.

So how hot does that DOC canister get? I was also wondering how does Massey deal with the particulates in the exhaust? I understand no DPF, but what about the soot that the DOC can't oxidize?

Same Temperature as a normal exhaust pipe does. Because that is all that is going through the DOC is Exhaust Gas. This engine does not create enough Particulate Matter to require any after exhaust emission systems. Just like the AGCO Power 3.3L in the 4707. It's cleaner burning and does not have the higher particulate matter production as some engines. The DOC cleans the exhaust enough to keep particulate matter level and NOx Gas levels below the Clean Air Act requirements. I can tell you it's been double, triple & probably quadruple check by the EPA to meet Clean Air Emission Standards. Great part don't worry you don't need that Diesel Particulate Filter to worry about ...just start it and drive it and most of all enjoy it. The Emission Systems are federally mandated and covered for 5 years Warranty.

Since this tractor does not have a DPF that means no regen cycles at all - correct?

Correct only Diesel Particulate Filters require regeneration and the 1700M has NO DPF so NO Regen is required.

Massey Ferguson offers front mounted Snow Blower that is chassis mounted and driven by a Mid-PTO. Not sure how a Loader Mounted Snow Blower would drive? Have to be Hydraulically and Open Center Hydraulics do not like continuous flow or they will heat up.

How much hp do you think I need to Pull a 6’ x 8’ trailer full of wood up a 20 degree hill? I have 60 acres of woods I’m going to use the wood in an outside wood burner to heat my house

How Much Weight? There is no specifications for this kind of data. I would ask other owners what their personal experience is or what are you pulling it with now. 6' x 8' Trailer is not very big and don't think it would take that much Horsepower to pull the angle is where the tricky calculations are. I don't have personal experience to answer this question 100% confidence.

I really wish they would start making two sets of rear hydraulic remotes standard equipment, If it's a 100 HP tractor, three sets should be a bare minimum.

It all depends on customers needs. If you don't need the extra remotes why pay more for them. That is the great thing with Massey Ferguson is if you need them we can order them or dealer install them. If you don't it saves you money not paying extra for something you don't need.
