In this episode of BlacktipH, I go fishing for massive Goliath Groupers and
Sharks with Ben Friedman from Barstool Outdoors and my good buddy Dr. Robert Borrego. The day started with Ben and I catching bonitos (false albacore) to use for bait. While we were catching bonito, a huge Dusky Shark came up to the boat, and of course, Ben wanted to catch it. We quickly rigged up bait for the big shark and tossed it in the water. The shark wasted no time and inhaled the bait! After an intense fight, Ben landed his first-ever Dusky Shark. From there, we moved to a spot where the Goliath groupers hang out. Borrego quickly caught a Bonito at the new location. Ben and I rigged up the bonito to catch a massive Goliath Grouper! It didn't take long for a monster grouper to come up to the boat and eat the bait! This fish was massive!! It proceeded to drag the 33ft boat by the stern and pull over 100lb of drag! Ben was holding on for dear life! Ben battled this sea monster for over five minutes before we landed it safely beside the boat. This fish was by far the most massive Goliath grouper of the year, well over 500lbs! Ben couldn't believe how big the fish was; he was in shock! Once we released the massive grouper, both Davis and I each caught a Goliath grouper before heading back to the dock.
