My mate Neal (big up Renfer) introduced me to these Bristolians who go by the name of Contra. Never heard of them before, but there's some wicked music on their SoundCloud page. This remix was up for free download on their profile and it instantly grabbed my attention. Not sure if any producer has done a bootleg of 'Teardrop' before, but Contra have pulled it off wonderfully - amazing vibes. Check out their links below!

Seriously considered not listening to this, considering the immense love i have for the original and the many awful remixes i've heard of it over the last 15 years. However, this is a lovely one. Like the best boots, simple execution and respectful to the original. Thanks for that Seb, pleasantly surprised.

Fitst time ive ever paused a remix because i thought i couldn't listen to tune so important in my personal history. I came to the comments instead and was reassured 😊 Actually done the tune justice, let it sit and marinate like the original so its just as heartfelt. No massive double drops every 8 bars interupting the flow. Sweet mix.

I did it, and I gave it away from free on Soundcloud, had the stems for the entire original and learned everything on a piano from scratch, the choirs are what made the original so haunting to me, along with the guitar feedback loops, this bootleg didn't butcher it, but would have been a lot better if he dug a little deeper into how much dub influence the original had, ez.

I believe the version they played is either the “Fred V bootleg” (also unreleased) or else it’s a new ID from one of them. Not entirely sure. The Fred V bootleg is about 4 years old though, and sounds more similar than this one I think.
