I attended a match at Man United vs Man City. They had one designated section for the City fans. There were 2 full rows of security, one on each side of the section, between the City fans and United fans. 2 security people for each row all the way down the stairs to the field. At the time I thought it was nuts till I saw the madness that occurred outside after the match. Honestly that was most exciting part of the match, the walk back to the train watching the rival fans fight. But yea I think Americans don't realize how crazy soccer fans can get till we have an event like this.

I’m guessing that tnt matching this offer is a lot like new balance matching Nikes offer to be Liverpool’s shirts. New balance has the right to match… but cannot make a comparable offering to match lebron doing advertisements when it is in the contract. I imagine that amazon would not waste money and time to make a contract that can be easily matched. I know nothing but I’m curious

Is it wrong, of course, but it is not solely an overseas problem & to push it as that is just ignorant tbh You are totally correct about event security for that number of people though.

Soccer remains unwatchable. It is either diving, fouling or whining. The sport needs to red card the ridiculous diving/whining/injury faking and flagrant fouls. Been harping on this for decades. I played as a youth in St. Louis. Fortunate enough to have a coach from England who taught us how to play the game correctly. The sublime grace of this sport is being destroyed by th aforementioned foolishness. And yea, why is soccer so popular? It is so inexpensive to play. Baseball remains king for this old guy. And as Tiger and countless others have said; “there is nothing more difficult in sport than hitting a baseball.” I’d go as far as to say there is no sport that requires more holistic skill.

Why do you harp on a sport for decades if it's unwatchable? Do you just watch it anyway? If not, how do you know what is even going on in the matches?

@@joqqeman Don’t watch it. Haven’t watched in regularly in over 40 years. Tried watching the World Cup a few years ago and had to turn it off as within the first few minutes saw, dives/hacks/ and whining. It’s a shame as I love the sport the way it should be played. I respect it when it is played correctly.

This is the organizers fault for allowing supporters of both countries the ability to sit anywhere without designated areas, thats how you have the family of the Uruguay team sitting around drunk Colombian supporters, its ridiculous and not safe for anybody.

Especially when you have immature cultures. People need to look at what happened and realize how embarrassing, childish and unacceptable this behavior is. Sport should be enjoyed. Competition should be enjoyed. There is no place in the world for hate or anger. Be kind. Always. It’s easy to do. Out lies and evil. Requires a bit more effort, but necessary. Have fun out there.

Splitting the fans makes it worse. They do that in England and it creates two mobs that encourage the behaviour and normalize it. This makes the behaviour far worse over time. The responds to incidents like this should be no fans allowed at the finals. There need to consequences that people will care bout.
