Best known as the "Pee-Wee" Dinosaurs, these massive roadside monsters have also appeared in the Wizard, Tears for Fears' "everybody wants to rule the world," and of course make an appearance on nearly every traveler's road trip between Los Angeles and destinations east on I-10 through the desert.
Located in Cabazon, California just west of Palm Springs, Claude Bell's massive concrete Dinosaurs have evolved beyond a mere roadside attraction and become a monument to American Art and Entrepreneurship. Join Justin and Adam the Woo on this look at and INSIDE the Cabazon Dinosaurs!

Probably one of the better photoshops of me, haha. Also, I love that place. The museum is INSANE! They also have a "live" dinosaur that comes out and interacts with you sometimes.

I'm so excited that you did a Randomland episode there!!! I always stop to see the Cabazon Dinosaurs when I'm driving out to LA. The inside of Mr. Rex looks different from when I went through 5 or 6 years ago. The inside was unpainted concrete and they had all sorts of fake plants and dinosaur jungle dioramas. It looks like they tore all of it out and just painted everything red. I still love going up into the mouth, it was one of my life long dreams.

my dad was claude bell ,I have great memories of him working on his dinosaurs ,We never would have sold them but death tax in California was so high we had no choice ! We owned a lot of property all around the dinosaurs and across the freeway. walter knotfrom knotts berry farm was a good friend and before he died he was carried up the stars in his wheel chair to visit dad. There is more history in this then most people know that is interesting .

They definitively need some signs there, those dinos are the highlight of the road trip just pointing them out in the distance. I looks like a great pit stop. I wish they at least let you in for free, this is going to be on my kids check list for sure.

Loved this place. Would visit Diny before my family and I would visit relatives in Arizona, throughout my childhood. Visited recently with my girlfriend. Excited to climb into Mr. Rex. A little disturbed that the new owners turned it into a Creationist museum.

If you've made it all the way to the CabazonDinos I hope you make your way to Smoke Tree Ranch in PS. Disney Wanted to build Disneyland there but Disneyland Palm Springs was turned down flat--and the rest is history.

That's another great video. It's too bad the Wheel Inn closed. I liked the Monte Cristo sandwich there. I heard that the restaurant was only busy on the weekends and couldn't sustain itself during the week. I think the nearby restaurants that came with the casino and the outlets probably hurt the Inn. The placement of that Burger King in front of the dinosaurs certainly didn't help. Well, at least the dinosaurs and Hadley's are still out there. I liked Mrs. Hadley. She was a good customer of ours and a really nice lady.
