20:38 I think they are either; building suspense peekaboo, or letting the viewer take a guess on what the grade will be, before revealing. The latter sometimes works, but most KZfaq channels don’t have good enough cameras and lighting to have any real hope of actually making an educated guess. 😩😎. I’m still pissed about the Koufax. I can only imagine the feeling. Toss another starter log on the uneasy with PSA fire…😅😮

On the Koufax ask psa for the pre grade scans of the card to see if it was there before. My most recent order came back from the New Jersey office (after I sent to Cali)and had way lower grades than expected across the board (non sports 90s stuff so not quite as old). Going to have to consider cracking and resubbing a few of them.

I also have two '67 Bunnings that look really nice but I decided not to send in for grading because they are a touch small side to side. After cracking open a '71 vending box and having some just be narrow right out of the box (62-62.5mm and should be 63-64mm) it makes me think thats just how a lot of the '67 Bunning's just came at the time. That's Andy Etchebarren on the '70 WS card with F Robby on it. Palmer didn't make that pic, but he's on a different one.

Dang I thouhgt PSA had junked qualifiers. What a bummer. They should have gone lighter on the slabs, not heavier. THat is rotten they ruin your card, pretend nothing happened, and then grade it. I have heard this happening to others. Horrible.

I only got one qualifier and the card clearly had a mark on it.

Some great cards there. The player in the 1970 Orioles playoff card is catcher Andy Etcheberren I believe. Bummer on the Koufax. Question on the four decade set, is this set exclusively PSA? Will be amazing when completed.

I was curious. The "grail" money that you used, had to be retrieved, so you couldn't keep some of your Ruth grail wish cards, rather you had to sell them ... then where did the money to buy THESE cards and have them graded come from ? You would rather have these over the Ruth's ? Your stories don't seem to add up. You had to go to Houston for THIS stuff ? You made this "find" seem to be the "grail", before the 2nd "grail".
@BaseballCollector18 күн бұрын
These were all bought and sent in way before the grail collection happened.

PSA is infamous for ruining peoples cards, still slabbing them and pretending it was that way to begin with. I would contact them for sure with all the business youve done with them. They are going to want proof that it wasnt like that, which is a joke, because they should be taking care of their customers. Id be furious, its totally unacceptable

Mike, I’m curious if you could tell the difference in weight between the newest edition of PSA holder vs the other ones. I’m also wondering why some of the cards were in the newest holders and others weren’t if they were all part of the same order. I am a PSA guy like yourself, Mike, but they sure do some strange and inconsistent things.
@BaseballCollector17 күн бұрын
Yes. I could tell there was a slight weight difference. It didn't seem like they were all in the new holder but I could be wrong there.

We collect the exact same sets. I have completed the 60's Decade 100% complete (90% PSA 7's, 10% 8's) The 70's Decade is mostly done. (7's and 8's, a few 9's). The registry messes around with 1973 manager cards (all the variations). I still need that 79 Expos Team Card in PSA 8. Impossible to find...no good raw copies available. I sent a flawless one in and it came back (PSA 6) with a dinged up corner that wasn't there when I sent it. The 80's decade is complete at 8.71 average grade. There are still cards that are needed....McGriff/Leyland. VaRedsFan on the Registry. Just when you think you are done, they add a new HOF'er. Kaat/Oliva/Hodges/Simmons. I've gotten all of the Dick Allen's except 1971. I think Dusty Baker will get in, I have most of his. 1971 is TOUGH! Love talking about these sets!
