As Sports Illustrated said in an article there's been some reports that multiple NHL teams have some interest in trading for Jacob Trouba this offseason. It'll be interesting to see if a deal actually happens as it seems a deal fell through with the Detroit Red Wings early on this offseason.

That’s the real reason we didn’t re-acquire Patrick Kane or Vladimir Tarasenko. To be fair, we would’ve gotten Reilly Smith, regardless of whether or not we got Kane or Tarasenko.

Yes so now there’s no good defensemen available since everyone is gone, Zac jones will most likely get a spot also I think the rangers may have a more defensive style this season so maybe trouba would be good to keep until the trade deadline

I really like Trouba, and with the complete lack of any kind of physical play from the rest of the team, getting rid of anyone who does play physically is gonna hurt, REAL bad. Having said that, it really put it into perspective for me when I learned that Trouba’s $8 mil cap hit is the same as Jack Hughes and Sidney Crosby. Let that sink in. Love Trouba and what he brings to the team, but the dude is NOT a Hughes or Crosby caliber player, and has NO reason to be hitting the team’s cap that hard.

@@zebdawson3687 yeah he’s physical alright, he’d rather hit a guy that’s out of the play rather than the puck handler going to the net all alone. Trouba and Miller were the only reason the Rangers lost that Florida series. Florida cycled so much there were ruts in the ice behind Igor’s net.

He can’t be on the team on opening night the ship has sailed. It’s a locker room disaster waiting to happen. This team is close can’t let this start a fire that potentially blows up this cores last few years of the window being open.

The rest of the league knows this narrative of Trouba " being such an awful defensively " and the scapegoating for this team's post season failures: is complete horseshit cr##. His contract is the springboard excuse for demonizing Trouba. Games 5 & 6 against the Panthers: Trouba was not on the ice for the goals against, that ended the Rangers season. There were many contributing factors and teamates: determining the losses. Trouba was on the ice for one goal against, in games 5 & 6. You guys want to scapegoat him, devalue him, best him into the ground???? Go ahead. But know, you're talking garbage. A still largely young, and inexperienced blueline ( Schneider & Miller). A defensive scheme that clearly was not working against the Panthers. But nothing either was done about it, or a majority of the team simply couldn't get it into their thick skulls. Too many " Star " forwards who simply couldn't get their game up to par, in all zones of the ice; especially lazily gliding back into their own zone, and not picking up their man, at most crucial moments in the series. While simultaneously making the dumbest decisions with the puck ( stupid turnovers & giveaways). And poor Igor...getting peppered and hammered every night, gave up some really soft, bad goals. Those are the reasons they were eliminated. At least Igor owned up to it. Took accountability.

Buffalo is not commuting distance away from NYC. It is something like an 8 hour drive each way.

To say it differently, shorter drives from NY include Boston, The Islanders, The Devils, The Flyers, The Capitals, and The Penguins are all closer to NYC than Buffalo is. I think a trade is more likely with Buffalo, but not because it is more commutable but rather because the Rangers would prefer to trade Trouba out of the division, and Boston probably doesn’t want his contract.

@@barrygreenberg4979 yea his wife is the problem I swear but smith COULD help he’s a passer and that line are more shooters so to have a passer could help, I mean they could still use otthman possibly for that top role and use smith as a bottom 6 cause the lines will probably be krieds-Mika-smith but I could see otthman then u got bread-troch-laf cullye-chytil-kakko Vesey-carrick-Rempe but u could use otthman there somewhere if they don’t bring back kakko(trade I mean)
