For names of the recruits, the Jackle could be Blackbeak as a reference to Blackbeard. As for a waster could go with HazardPunk since wasters are made for a wasteland full of hazards.

A thought on the ship shields: It may be smarter to move them closer to the center for a few reasons. By moving them closer to the center you will minimize the ship's hitbox, saving your shields from soaking up shots that would have missed anyways. Also, having them closer with more overlap means that if the front shield goes down, the back overlap can keep most of the area covered until the front shields recharge. Putting the ships together is some PEAK pirate shit, and I think the double overlapping shields sounds like something a pirate engineer would come up with as well. LOVE IT.

in the back part of the ship build big storage so if engine's will be destroyed u will repair it faster and you will have more space in the front which is more useful

Call the Rat Skaven or Plagueskaven, from Warhammer 40Ks faction. It basically translates to "Plague Monk" which is what rats spread

You should bulid something like kind of hall of fame, for your pirates. This is gonna be place when you will store and expose your throphies. Things like skulls of Spartans, diffrent rare weapons and armor that you do not currently using, bodies of your fall comrades, and other things that you think that are worth something. You are making great job with the series.I love to watch it.

You can attack all of those trade ships. When they show up you can go to either your pilot console or your ai core and select to attack. You do the same thing when there are derelict ships you want to salvage. Also you should enclose your turrets in the hull to better protect them they can still shoot out with no issues and you should make the hull at least two layers thick that will protect your ship from most initial salvos when you need to let your shields be repaired or when dumping the heat with a purge port.

considering i've played with save our ship 2 quite a lot back in the day one thing that will help a lot are ship radiators they help heat sinks dissipate heat quite a bit, but they produce a decent amount of heat on the outside which is easily dissipated by the empty space outside.

Finally managed to catch up to this series! Recently been playing Rimworld myself and gotta say I'm loving it so far even though I need to get the other two DLC (I'm not getting anomaly until all the mods I'm currently running get updated). Anyways I would feel like after the death of Gaines Zap Zap could fill in as a mother role for the Baby, perhaps she can make her her protege in piloting ships and perhaps at some point the Marauder.

A bit late for it but a bit lore if ye are interested Rat Knight; The lore reason that these random pirates keep on attacking you is because you are the top of the pirate food chain at the moment and a legend. They don’t see the cannons but instead the idea of what potential loot a pirate clan of your magnitude has.

You probably want a SRTS shuttle. So you can just move the star reaper back to the clouds reform the caravan with all the loot and then send the shuttle to get the caravan. It makes the loot way more streamlined.

Maybe the Toad could be called the "Rusty Ravager" for all the steel it transported

The toad Shuttle could be called "smoak screen" for obvious reasons

Kinda late but here is a lore:the big ship that you find on the start of the episode is your ship that the unsc try to replicate but they failed so that's why the big ship is destroyed

Tactical suggestion if I may, I recommend putting a third shield generator in the middle of the ship so everywhere is covered by at least two shields at any given point. (Barring material and power availability of course)

`25:40 I'd recommend that you don't check that ship out. It's likely carrying the Flood infection aboard. Idea: Put some Wooden Walls with a small gap between your outside and the thin parts of your main hull. The idea being that the Wood will take a hit for the main hull and let you not get torn in half in a single hit.

You should name the Rat "Rat knight"! He would be like the version of you in this universe hahaha

If that's a psychic flayer canon intact... wow things have changed since SOS2 1.3, b/c that weapin will let you knock out all the pawns on an enemy ship IF you play your cards right. Also, you should prioritize MANY railguns so you always outrange opponents and can fire the first volley :) Also, you need more heatsinks, like... A LOT more heatsinks if you wish to have a hope of a prayer in a prolonged engagement. :)

You should capture/make a small space ship dedicated to landing troops on the ground and/or as a scout vessel

Hello I found your videos a few days ago and I love your storytelling. I have a mod suggestion that maybe could be interesting for you "Free Draftee Direction" with it drafted Pawns can look in all directions and not only into the "camera"

Turn the back of your ship into missile batteries and missile production so you can actually fight back during ship fights and the production so you are self sufficient and can turn your kills into future ammo which forms a nice cycle And you can also put the batteries on both sides allowing you to “broadside” like the pirates of old, although that will be more imaginary since you will just be firing them side by side for the theme

Rat, instead of continuing to lengthen the spaceship, you should instead widen it, like a square, with different compartmentalized sections, making the spaceship less likely to be pierced. (Sorry if it is bad english.)

i like to think that the personal core used in A.D.A.Ms Hardware was originally Designed for a Terraforming/repopulation Machine, Thus why its Name is A.D.A.M, However the Pirates don't know that so they just made up the Reasoning for its Acronym

The front of the ship has a nice shape while the back looks very blocky so maybe raid 2 ships like the one you attached at the back and put the engines on both sides at the back with the middle part being a docking bay with a door leading straight to a storage area so that way that huge extra space that was the enemy ship's crew cabins can be something more useful aswell as giving the ship a better shape😅

A couple of tips don’t put weapons on the outside of your ship and turn off you shield except for in a fight (also the rat should be bob)

Someone’s probably already proposed this, but name Rat 1 “Remmy” after the movie ratitoulie because like the beginning of said movie our Remmy was eating only scraps and what not but now that he’s joined the pirate crews he’ll only eat the finest of meals

100€ that the ship at the end is a flood ship!

I do believe that using that new rear section of the ship as a brigg/prison would not be very wise, as it is way too close to those vulnerable engines. I'd suggest relocating all power, engineering and research to those rear sections, while placing the brigg near the crew quarters and security locations so that if you do get escape attempts and jail breaks, your crew and onboard security can react much faster and get to them before they can cause harm.

Great vid as always, i have a question does the naval gun mod work with the ship if so full 40k broadside my good sir Also i find burried the crew on a random planet is meh, i remember there is a mod for a crypto casket style grave, make the dead part of the ship flying dutchman style or use our crew dead body in casket as more armor for rp purpose of course
