Massively Improved CRF450RL Clutch Pull! RSC Righteous Stunt Clutch Lever

Who knew what bearings and precision machinery can do for a clutch lever! Installed an RSC 3-Finger Lever from Righteous Stunt Metal. They are the name in stunt levers, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the clutch pull it provides on an off road bike! They also come in a variety of lengths: 1-finger pull, 2-finger pull, all the way up to 4-finger pull for your preference. I noticed that the finger lengths might be slightly shorter than you expect, so I went one up from my preference of using 2 fingers.

Well I can spend 300$ on this or 1100$ on the magura (?) hydraulic unit. But then I get the magura lever that I’m not a big fan of. Asv lever will work if I remove the switches or change to ktm switches. So now I’m doing a lot of messing around and wiring and adding 200$ to the price of the magura. I just answered my own question. RSC it is!!!

Great video, any chance you could clarify how you fixed the clutch sensor wires you capped off? I have the 450RL and the RSC, but wasn't sure about how to deal with that sensor---was afraid if that was done wrong it could cause issues. Thanks!

Thank you! I just plugged the sensor wire into itself to close the circuit.

any idle adjustment or issue from just bypassing the clutch switch? the ecu thinks the clutch is pulled in all the time and not sure if this bike (Vortex in my case - '22 450RL also) makes an adjustment in idle speed or no load mode for this. Same same as before but with a slightly larger engagement? Thanks

None that I have noticed, I might do a test by connecting the wires together at different gears/speeds, but with my initial impressions I don't think the crf has an idle adjustment in the ECU.

I, too, had an RSC lever on my RL but removed it. I found the need for the cable spacer, ordered one, tried to installed it and found that the spacer would not fit over the outboard end of the cable ferring...thereby rendering the spacer un-installable. If your installation is successful, please let me know what you have done differently.

I got the spacer and got it to fit. It was an extremely tight fit, almost considered filing down the spacer to clear, but managed to get it in after shortening absolutely every adjustment.

How much of your pull force reduction do you attribute to the absence of the jutter spring alone?

@@keithplemmons5615 the judder spring adds its additional clutch engagement right at the initial point when your clutch lever is fully pulled in, probably good for technical riding but the rsc adds it back throughout.

How's that lever working for you now (9 months after the posting date for the video)?I ended up taking mine off because the angle at which the cable entered the perch on the RSC was too steep and ended up fraying the cable and wearing through the cable cap. I kept thinking that the cable adjuster was backing out on me because I kept having to readjust it to take up cable slack (the cable stretched as it frayed). I didn't realize the cable was fraying until it snapped. I like a 1 finger clutch so I ended up just cutting the stock lever down and taking finger steroids to be able to pull the stock set up.

So far so good! No fraying although I'll be honest I haven't been able to ride the last couple months. Did you have the dirt bike cable spacer? I think that would help to angle it appropriately.

I had the perch spacer and cable spacer. Maybe I didn't have it set up properly. As it turns out I like the shorter engagement area anyway. @@lexdfox
