I have easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials "do it yourself" (DIY) videos to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers and zero turn mowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed whacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, zero turn mower, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.
I have the largest Small Engine Repair Video Library on KZfaq and the entire internet with over 1200 videos, just GOOGLE "DONYBOY73"!

When I was a mechanic for a large American railway we left our track machines out all winter. In the spring when it was time to go to work or batteries were always messed up, cables corroded and the like. Our bolt/hardware products guy came around and showed me a cable crimping tool and the cable ends for it. Yeah, I want one I said. He ordered it up and it cost $800. I almost lost my job. Yeah, $800 and the tool looked just like the hand operated Temu crimper. Thanks Dony!

nice tools , thanks . in a pinch , you can make your own lugs from a piece of flexible copper tubing . saw 1/2 way thru in the middle , hammer one end flat , and drill hole for connecting stud .

I made a crimper from a large nut. Depending on the size of the lug you can make more than 1. I drilled a hole on one of the sides of the nut, then using a bolt, I slide it through the hole in the nut. Then I placed the nut and bolt in a vise, then slide the lug into the threaded side of the nut and tighten the vise. The bolt will force itself into the lug as you tighten the vise. It cost less than $1.00. I made a crimp for my mig welder new ground cable. 😊 Now if your in a bind and the stores are closed you can use a copper water pipe and make a lug. Flatten one end and drill your hole and the open end of course is for your wire. Bought my copper lug at the local TSC store which is now called Peavey Mart here in Ontario Canada. Different sizes of cables are also available on a role at the store.

I replaced a lug just last week on a zero turn... finding a new lug of the proper size was the biggest problem! I tried hardware and auto motive stores... I used a pair of Klein slip joint pliers to crimp it. They worked surprisingly well. This tool and lug kit would have payed for itself by saving me a couple hours of running around looking for a lug!

I like to add a bit of copper based grease to the wire before I crimp the connection to help prevent future corrosion. Great video.

Thanks Donny. I haven't ordered from Temu since... yesterday. I ordered those crimpers a few months ago. I did one test crimp when they came, but haven't needed them since. I have found most Temu tools to be decent, with a few junkers in there.

My heat gun broke last weekend. Opened it up, the 10a fuse went out , it's 20 yrs old, and will get another 20 just as soon as fuses get here. Our local elec shop closed few years ago. Those are parrot beak cutters ,good find. Take care DB.

30 years of doing this in telecom... Some Pro tips, I'm not going to nitpick because who cares. That's cool that it comes with heat shrink but presumably most people are doing battery cables at the battery, it's corrosive there. Spend the extra money on an assortment of heat shrink that's lined with hot glue because that corrosion will travel up the sheath. Also you want to use some sort of No-Ox-Id grease, even silicon dielectric grease inside the lug before you crimp, that will seal your end and maintain good contact. a 12 oz can of NOCO NCP2 is 13 bucks US and will do a lot of terminals. Those crimpers are decent, especially for the money, Greenlee used to make em(they might still) maybe the patent expired or whoever's making them is saying try and stop us...

Cool video but I still prefer a solder joint because I have seen the crimped lugs fail a lot especially in a vibrating and corrosive environment such as granular fertilization equipment.👍
