Danya, since I’m catching this video early, I just want to say thanks for making these videos! They literally carried me from almost a 1300 level to now 2000 and climbing fast in under a year. I recently won my first chess tournament, and I firmly believe that it wouldn’t have happened without these videos.

11:20 is a great instructional moment. I often struggle to decide where to develop my queen on the second rank and will now never forget this idea.

Brilliant episode. The only thing that I always add is you must do a whole lot of tactics before you will be able to instantly 'see' the whole board. For most people tactics are the quickest route to improvement.

I used to play like an advanced french because I didn't like playing with a symmetric pawn structure, but now I see it's not at all boring to play if you take the pawn. I may come back to play the alapin thanks to you danya.

Hey Danya, I highly doubt you will see this or if its even possible, but I would love if sometime you could play a game where you have computer analysis for 4 or 5 moves total and you could not only explain your thoughts like you do every game, but also contrast what you thought with what the computer is saying and perhaps even explain the weird computer suggestions to the best of your ability, to show have different lines can diverge in interesting but not worse ways in the midgame. The logistics of it are awkward though since you would probably just have to play a strong bot or a subscriber, but with a random subscriber you may not get enough challenge to make it worthwhile? I don't know, maybe this is a stupid idea, I am just finding it increasingly fun to analyze your games while watching here on KZfaq and noticing the difference between computer moves and your fundamental moves is fascinating, while I think you also being alerted to ideas you completely missed and how you would react to seeing them also seems like it would be interesting. I figure most computer moves, even weird ones, quickly make sense to you and you could explain them well to us plebs who are far too weak to understand them.

It's sad to see that slowly all the speedruns are becoming a feeding grounds for streamsnipers, cheaters, smurfs and sometimes all of these combined.

I don't think he was really cheating in any way. He had nothing to do with any other piece, all pawn moves would be very weakening and risky versus a clearly much better opponent and Qc4 attacks the a2 pawn, one of the most important things was to create counterplay and win back pawns to atleast draw. That was not suspicious, just a weird coincidence in my book. His profile looks consistent with the play we experienced. He completely ran into other ideas discussed on stream so I neither suspect sniping nor cheating. Danya is just incredibly strong at prognosing beginner and intermediate moves, he is called the prophet for a reason!

I thought Rd2 wasn't a good move because of e4 and I was right. Engine evaluation drops from +1.2 to +0.3 (you didn't analyse what would happen with e4 there in the video, only a move earlier or later). Slightly better than e4 even was Qd5 according to engine (which I'd never consider). Anyway, reason that e4 works there is that it doesn't lose the pawn after Nb4 and only 1 pair of rooks is traded. White will end up up a pawn and a little better still, but would be hard to win imo.

27:08 this looked like a good spot for black to play e4, no? e4 fxe4, Qxe4 Qxe4, bxe4 and the knight is pinned. Loses an exchange? What should white play there instead?
