The 5 amendments of chess by Danya: - Don't let your bishop bite on granite - Your pieces don't have to be always conquering Mount Everest - The threat is stronger than the execution - When your opponent plays passively, STRIKE in the center - No need to reinvent the wheel, just develop your pieces normally

I will always trade my bishop or knight for 2 of those kingside pawns. I don’t think I’ve ever turned it down lol and I win those games usually. I’ll usually sac the bishop keep the knight and then swung my queen over there and they have to work so hard to keep the mate from happening I can usually get some nice weaknesses to open up on different areas of the board, of course sometimes I completely miscalculate and get annihilated but that’s just chess lol

20:21 it is worth it at my level (1500 blitz) because opponents dont know how to take advantage of "activity" and waste it by playing some non-ideal moves. that gives me time to consolidate, and after trading everything, that pawn from the other side of the board is too far for the king.
@Askhat086 ай бұрын
I can guarantee you, you will indeed get in a lot of trouble against any 1700+ player playing like this, so if you want to improve, you better not risk your king safety in favor of a pawn.
@TheCrimson7272 Жыл бұрын
People always say g4 weakens the king and that you shouldnt unpin the knight that way, but I never actually see a checkmate from it and I almost always see it end in drawing positions. Seems to me that g4 and other pawn moves on the king side are not actually that weakening
@Askhat086 ай бұрын
Actually Stockfish likes g4 pretty often. Especially if it allows you to win a pawn with the unpinned Knight.

I actually liked your war analogy a lot and think it applies so well to the twitterverse following the war in Ukraine. You have all of these “low ranked” commenters throwing their grenades and knives, then the mid-ranked journalists with their input. Then the “grandmaster” (hopefully) statesmen and IR scholars thinking about the long view of the world. Anyway, thanks for a great game analysis and food for thought.
