I adored Fassbender as Octavian and as a concert artist. Her one failure for me was her Klytemnestra opposite Behrens. I don’t know how Behrens didn’t burst out laughing.

She was a risk taker.i think production values have changed a bit since then . Her Octavian is unsurpassed..i also like her presentation of the ghastly count in Fledermaus. Its as slapstick and classy as the British Woodhouse Playhouse with its portrayal of the noxious upper classes at their leisure
