The Harvard Graduate School of Education is pleased to continue "Master Class," a series that celebrates inspiring teaching at Harvard. Each event involves a demonstration of teaching followed by a reflective discussion with the participants. The “demonstration” part of the time will be an authentic experience of learning for members of the audience, drawing on the faculty member’s chosen teaching approach and topic; the “reflection” part will be a dialogue in which the faculty member shares his or her pedagogical assumptions, intentions, and moves, and engages in a conversation with a discussant and the audience that “pulls back the curtain” on his or her teaching. This event precedes the Ed School's annual Teaching and Learning Week, which will run from October 6 - 10.
In the third class of the series Professor Monica Higgins will teach a session entitled, "Learning to Lead through Case Discussion." HGSE Senior Lecturer James Honan will serve as the discussant.

Since its founding in 1920, the Harvard Graduate School of Education has been training leaders to transform education in the United States and around the globe. Today, our faculty, students, and alumni are studying and solving the most critical challenges facing education: student assessment, the achievement gap, urban education, and teacher shortages, to name just a few. Our work is shaping how people teach, learn, and lead in schools and colleges as well as in after-school programs, high-tech companies, and international organizations. The HGSE community is pushing the frontiers of education, and the effects of our entrepreneurship are improving the world.

Great! I have no problem getting into Harvard. I find sharing my experiences appealing and always useful. Those who know more about Harvard know that " Having the right questions is principal in everything and there is no other way to prevail." So, the title of this lecture is phenomenal, a great way to learn right from the start. The Prof. starts with an Easy question, openly directing and leading the students for discussion obviously engaging active social able relations. Great job! Start with an easy question!

As far as I can tell (from doing a bit of research), the case study seems to be: "The Everest Disaster A case study on leadership and decision-making", available for free via Research gate

- - - in any business school - - - executive development programs are necessary - - - having practicing managers participating in the program - - - did our institute make serious effort to organize these ? FDPs are easy to arrange but what about EDPs ? how about trying to organize these in small groups for one day to start with ? These are essential for national as well international recognition and accreditation - - -

the sound is really terrible. I do really hope that you put the subtitle or activate auto-sub, so that I can know what she's talking about.
