It does connect the dots in story line. It is the explanation on why Charu chose him, why Thalapathy was chasing them and why Savitha was chosen for the elections. So basically I can't agree with you.

@@mtrxty Okay, I'm not asking you to agree with me? Again, whatever your saying actually doesn't strengthen the story much more, just the character of JD, which is fine. JD's character was not that fleshed out in the movie, so this scene would've helped with that. Charu would've chosen him regardless because there were many occasions when JD fought for the students.

Not because of that, but because plot length and this scene doesn't gel into the screenplay well. It's a good scene which they decided was good enough to post as post-credits cut scenes.

Jaby was right. As much as the scene was powerful, it didn't have much value in that story. So they cut it out to make the movie short and the good part is they released it on youtube instead of completely deleting it.

I remember my dad who slapped a douche dude, in a traffic signal, my mom joined in for another slap on him... The reason he gropped a girl in public... I vividly remember the scene, but that was the most pride moment where I looked up to my parents...

@@36sivacharansivaraj79 In Vijay's introduction scene he will be chasing these 2 students because once her mother decided to file a police complaint, his dad (a corrupted guy) bribes the Police and plans to send them to Canada and meanwhile JD (Vijay) was suspended by the college management for violence against students.

This was absolutely a great scene with a great message, but I think they deleted it maybe because if they added this scene, the movie might have went another direction and gone with multiple messages that would have confuse the viewers about what the intention of the movie is - I think it would had been great to have this scene as a flashback for the reason why Charu transfered JD to the juvenile home when JD is in the custody

This scene was deleted because this dilutes the character of 'alcoholic' JD.One more reason is the length of the movie which is 3 hrs long.

Guys as being member of editing team worked on it so We would like to apologise however, due to this scene somehow glorifying sexual abuse and assault so, we were asked/forced to remove as one of the so-called social activist filed complaint to censor board. We also understand the intensity of the scene so, please forgive us for that.

to answer your question jaby and achara: "Why did they take that scene out?" It's because the movie's runtime was already 3 hours and if they were to add this scene in, i think they'd have to change the way they introduce the start of the movie and just in general, it would make the move longer so yeah, that's why i think/the director said in an interview

That scene was deleted because it doesn't have much value in the storyline and also this was kinda vijay's intro and if it was his intro it would have been a problematic intro .but they wanted Vijay's intro to be stylish and cool as always so they deleted this scene.

I think this scene is necessary in the movie to understand why JD is so popular among most of the students, and why many teachers and the dean is against him. Furthermore this scene also could have been one of the reasons why Charu, plays with the fate of JD later in the movie. Speaking about subjects sexual harassment and voyeurism are topics that should not be silenced. The more awareness, the less violations

In the movie JD (Vijay) is shown as an alcoholic professor who is not bothered about anything serious.But in this scene he is shown as much more concerned about everything.I think that's why it's been deleted. But due to the removal of this scene it's left unspoken how the victim girl and the JD( Vijay) get in touch in the movie.

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if this information has been posted before by someone else. But anyway, here it goes. 2:53-3:10 (in the original video). The exhibition JD(Vijay) was referring to was the "What were you wearing?" art exhibition. The aim of this exhibition was to dispel the myths on sexual assault. It was primarily done to educate people that the kind of women's clothing has nothing to do with sexual assault. This was conducted in different parts of America and also in different universities there. The exhibition displays different clothing worn by females(who were rape survivors) of different age groups when they were raped. Each dress had a story to tell. Do search it on KZfaq and you'll find quite a number of results.
