Yeah I’m not an expert but I’d say it’s awkward cause it’s grammatically vague/ literally incorrect, “formed units” makes more sense because unit is used to describe an organized group unlike swarm which can be hectic and disorganized such as a “swarm of bees”☝️🤓

I think it’s really is just a difference in approach. Duel Terminal were trying to build a mini world with archetypes like ice barrier, x saber, wind valley and flamvell. Their goal was to give you an idea of how disfunctional this clan or nation work first then story. I prefer duel terminal approach over Albaz and World legacy which skips any world building

I gotta go back and watch the eldlich solo mode cause everyone’s saying that one was really good but DT Lore (and others like beetroopers, six Sam, digibugs) is literally just a cast of characters, the cutscenes spend forever talking about NOTHING, describing cards as if you were a baby or vent to you about Souza and Gottom for 30 minutes with the communication skills of a baby. they should just make cool, quick little live2d montages or something (since they’re low budget compared to making a short animated cinematic ig) for these low substance stories or just try to flesh them out more narratively idc if they just make up a whole bunch of random “non-cannon” shit JUST MAKE IT INTERESTING 😭😭

Who the hell actually says "the past with the now" in a regular English conversation? Maniacs, robots, and ESL folks who don't know any better, that's who.

By this logic the most awkward and uncomfortable sentences are “formal” as long as they’re viable sentences which is… obviously not true. I don’t think any native English speaker thinks “the past with the now” sounds awkward because it’s FORMAL. It sounds awkward because it’s a borderline incorrect usage of the word “now” that, while technically grammatically fine, probably doesn’t occur much in any sort of formal/old English either.

This story line was very much someone's first draft. As for deck types, it's a shame X-Saber hasn't been given more new support. Of all the DT archetypes, it has the most playable old cards. All Konami needs to do is fill in the gaps.

The thing that is very strange about how poorly these are translated is that the company that localizes the anime, Konami Cross Media (formerly 4Kids but now owned by Konami), has been used to write the official subtitle translations for the animes but Konami doesn’t appear to ever use them for these solo modes for some reason? Even though it’s one of their own subsidiaries?

Shuraig can search Rescue Cat and Ferrijit can SS the Cat from hand. Rescue Cat can then be used to search Airbellum and/or Darksoul, and overlayed for Invoker Invoker can then be used to SS Assault Sentinel from Deck to do th Assault Mode line to Synchro summon Gottoms. That's 2 Sabers on the field for Faultroll and (if you tribute the Invoker for Gottoms effect) that's 2 Sabers in GY for Second Call. More Handrips! Also, Saber Reflection is hard to trigger on your turn, but Assault Synchron's effect can trigger it None of these are particularly good options; but they are funny when they work lol

I appreciate how Duel Terminal gave us very interesting worldbuilding and stylish unique factions in the very limited space of a YGO card, even if it had to spread story hooks a bit too thin for characters to be super relevant, but man, that kind of approach does NOT give the Solo Modes zooming in on the factions much material, im surprised how much text that shit had.

iirc its one of the Constellars + XX-Sabers EDIT: Yeah no, if the Yugipedia article about the book containing early Duel Terminal lore is correct, MX Invoker is meant to be Souza, or at least it is implied, since the M in "MX" means "Missing"
