thanks for this lesson. I find the "one note" section very helpful because it helps getting better continuity in phrases by the simplest means. "Flow" in playing can be facilitated just by giving more attention to repeating a note in a particular rhythmic pattern.

They say the simple things in life are the best, the simple concept of rhythm was perfectly captured in your demonstration, which has made a huge difference to approaching a solo.

Great video. I love your music philosophy. In regard to the one note, Howard Roberts used to teach his son, who is a FANTASTIC player/educator, to solo on only one string, and he would take of ALL the other strings off the guitar to do this. Then he would add 2 strings, then 3. I've never tried that cause I could play already when I read about it, but I'm wondering if it would be good for students starting out? Christian, in regard to how much your playing has changed since when you first started, you went from being a good guitarist, to one of the BEST Gypsy Jazz guitarists out there, and as an educator, well you are at the TOP of the heap when it comes to teaching in my opinion. But for Gypsy jazz and improvising, you're TOP SHELF! Not Love bombing here just giving my truth, cause I've learned SO MUCH from you in 3 yrs.

Thank you so much! About that exercise: haha sounds like fun though removing the strings seems a little extreme :)!
