Not great, not bad, not expensive.....so certainly something that can help to "fill in the gaps" on kits with zimmerit molded on or with aftermarket zimmerit sets. The uniform pattern requires a little work to make it appear more natural, but filling in the side of this Tiger's bow plate took less than 10 minutes. That's faster than putty, and easier too.

DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

That looks exactly like the pre-cut zimmerit for the Trumpeter Tiger I. It's nice to know we can get blank sheets for any application.

I think you hit the nail on the head with that conclusion. Perfect way of tacking in the "missing" areas of those molded on Zim kits. Great tip Evan, keep them coming mate! Cheers!

It's not the worst thing out there, but there are better options if you're going to zimm a full tank :)

Your skill gave the product that bit extra.I'm still making my own from FIMO(heat cured). Just roll it out on baking paper over panel outlines,trim and add your pattern, then cure for few minutes.Very flexible,tuff and you can achieve really wafer thin edges..You can push right through it too,showing actual surface of model.Better for partial or damaged zimm.That sheeting looks ok for a Factory fresh vehicle.

Interesting application. I would not have thought of that actually, but i have also seen this product before. Normally i use some leftover parts from my Atak Zim sheets, but so far the need for that has only arisen maybe twice in all those years. I agree, it would be super tricky to cover an entire vehicle with these Trumpeter sheets, but its handy if a place needs to be filled in with Zimmerit. Do they also make other Zimmerit types, like the Waffel pattern for example?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Michael. Sadly they don't make the other types of zimmerit right now...only this one. I wish they did waffle zimmerit :'(

This does look pretty good, but I am already very well invested in Atak sets (and near zero filling, fitting issues) to try anything new. I guess I'll have to get some new kits in the future and maybe give this a try.

@@Panzermeister36 it's just so satisfying to use, flipping the whole sheet over and sanding with my 240 grit until all the gloss is gone and the pieces start to fall off. I just did a DB square pattern on my Takom mid early A and it's spectacular stuff.

Hello all from a "lady modeler" Cool looking Zim, do you know if there will be a waffle pattern in this range?
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 жыл бұрын
No, sadly they only do this zimmerit pattern. I wish they did waffle. I think ATAK makes waffle zimmerit sets, and their stuff is good.

I’m about to hit up a 1/16 scale tiger and it comes with a zimmerit application tool. I’m still unsure what to use to apply this zimmerit, I have milliput and also some revel putty in my arsenal but should I be looking at something else?

I think so. For a full tank, yeah, so ATAK or Tamiya full zimm sets. They're way better.

Hi! One of your tracks is on backwards.
@Panzermeister36
@Panzermeister36 4 жыл бұрын
That's how it's supposed to be on a late Tiger. They simplified the design so the left-side track is placed backwards on the right side instead of having a mirrored track for the right side.
