Best times with my dad before he died. We were prom dress shopping for my sister and my dad and me were bored as hell. There was a GameStop across the street and he bought it for me. We knew my mom definitely wouldn’t like me having it so he took it and hid it under his seat. After that we got Chick Fil A and he got me anything I wanted. When we got home we left it in the car and went to bed. We woke up to play it together for about 13 hours straight. Best time ever. It was also the best jacksepticye series too 🙂

Absolutely my friend! Primal is the closest feeling/experience we’ll ever get to how things were in the Stone Age! But I feel Ubisoft really got it right with their research and honestly of course some things are going to be fictional for a video game standard, but as a big time nerd for this period on Earth, I think it’s 99.9% accurate on how things looked and the human race acted!

This was actually really fun to play, I really enjoy it. Not to be a history nerd but 10000 years ago tribal warfare would've been the case and was a huge contributor for migration to different parts of the world. They're not dumb, we built upon what they've achieved (tools, housings, communities) but maybe we took it for granted, they were the foundation of human civilistion. Why do we start war in history, for leadership, land and resources. Some people were not native of a certain region and that causes war not to mention the cannibal tribe were probably neanderthals, an entirely different species.
@JohnnyWalker1077
@JohnnyWalker1077 9 ай бұрын
You literally answered your own comment "Why do we start war? Land and resources". Tribal war, maybe not like in Primal, but in general, has been a common thing during the early stages of humanity. This is proven by countless bone finds. The stoneage man "ötzi" from present day Austria/Italy has literally been hunted down and killed by someone as his injuries have proven. The Neanderthals have been wiped out by Humans.

Survivor mode is perfectly executed in Primal, to the point where it's left me wishing for a version of Survivor mode to be integrated into every Far Cry game. Certain things about Primal are tailor-made for a good Survival mode, and it would be a challenge to work that into a modern world Far Cry, but there is still so much potential to make Far Cry games more immersive. Primal's Survivor mode is one of the best balances of fun action-y seamless gameplay with the friction and consequence of 'Surviving' and it really is so immersive.

It's entirely untrue that people 12,000 years ago "weren't the smartest bunch" as you said. I haven't played Primal but if that's the way the game portrays them then that's sad. They were anatomically modern humans, and they were anatomically modern for literally tens of thousands of years before this game takes place. They may have actually been more "intelligent" however you want to define that as Cro Magnons had a slightly larger brain volume than modern Europeans do today. ALSO--- I recommend not using some punk ass little journalist website for your source on paleolithic lifespan. Firstly, the average is more like 35, not 25. Secondly the average is EXTREMELY misleading. This is basically statistics 101. Infant and small child mortality rates were much higher, so you have a lot of dead infants which dramatically bring down the AVERAGE life expectancy. The majority of those that made it into adulthood were living well into their 40s, 50s and 60s. Some were even older. TLDR; they weren't less or more intelligent than we are today, at all. And theyre genetically the same as modern sapiens. Also your figure on lifespan is wildly misleading. Sorry, not sorry.

It all comes down to a bias to inflate ones own knowledge to be better than those of the past. I often think of the Roman legions that had the ability to chop down forests and construct new siege towers, ladders, large walls, and battering rams on the battlefield in a matter of days. A skill set that most modern people would find as impossible and daunting.

I agree with some things pointed out in the video, but man, every second spent on collecting resources and crafting is worth spending just for the unique atmosphere. I hear the “why doesn’t everyone get along” argument for this game a lot. (I can’t remember how to spell the tribe names) Both enemy tribes have a way of life that actively endangers our tribe. The cannibal tribe actively hunts the good tribe and the fire tribe enslaves the good tribe. They did this because our tribe was divided so, takkar had to gather his people together to destroy the two bigger tribes and secure the good tribes survival.

The udam(cannibal people) are also expanding from the north as they're **almost entirely wiped out** and they have almost no other option than expansion, and unfortunately for the weenjia(good guys) they go about it violently. If you want to play extra "immersive", turn off the reticle, detection meter, minimap, enemy tags, limit what you can craft, so no carrying 5 spears, 24 arrows, and 4 clubs. Also don't use the owl, and only tame canines. The game becomes much more challenging and perhaps tedious to some, but I enjoyed the torture >:D

Primal was the most immersive game from the series for me and was the most fun to play. The 10000 bc setting is exactly what the far cry template needed to fill the gaps of coherence so the story and characters felt excellent and in place. Tribal survival was exactly what youd expect to lead them. The story and game is pleasantly short so you're in the discovering phase most of the time and I felt no grinding. The primitive weapons actually gave me so much more than expected variety and possibilities that close to the end I was worried there wont be enough game left for me to do it all. Oh and its a bit more satisfyingly gory which was apparently something i was missing in the other games. :)

A little late here, I love your videos and your thoughts. This game to me was for some ofd reason one of the best games I’ve ever played mainly because of the setting made me feel like I was playing an entirely new type of game. I haven’t felt like that since Gears of War 1, Assassins Creed 1 or even something like skate 3 in terms of skateboarding games. Those games changed the way I felt about gaming entirely and even though the story isn’t amazing I didn’t expect it to be because of the setting but I truly felt like a caveman. Maybe it’s because of my lower expectation that I love those game so much.

Dude it was the most unique because of not having guns And when you say that you sound like the average cod fan. But not having guns, that’s what made it fun and your intellect of the story was the same as a fucking Udam club warrior there was an actual story to this and the gathering was for the surviving aspect and hardly a chore unless you were on survivor mode it feels like you skipped most of the cutscenes (which by the way we’re pretty fucking good) Don’t get me wrong combat could have been better yes but the whole idea of this game in my opinion especially if you’ve ever played on perma death (or at least the whole game on expert) is what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. you gain More strength and craft better weapons and adapt to the harsh environment of this time period where you are obviously not the top of the food chain just yet

The language spoken in primal is actually 3 languages! Although 2 of them are very similar these being udam and wenja. They are all reconstructions of Proto-indo-european, wenja and udam are reconstructions that are different from izilla because they were reconstructed to be a little bit older than izilla and Proto-indo-european and they are by far the languages that are farther from our own Indo-European languages since they are "older" (only from a linguistic point of view). Izilla on the other hand is very similar to normal Proto-indo-european! If you really listen to the languages and read them online you can even understand some words and sometimes full on sentences depending on what languages you speak which is very cool!(there is a blog that the developers made that explains how they reconstructed it and where you can learn how to speak them)

It’s still a beautiful looking game. I agree with the melee combat, it should’ve been a bit deeper considering you’re using spears and clubs predominantly. The gathering part where you have to stop and hold E isn’t really a big deal as you can just hold E as you’re running past anything or dead bodies and it’ll still pick them up without having to stop

As someone that didn’t play the far cry games as they came out I started with 5. It is nice to get to see the progression in game development as I play the older games. I played 5 then new dawn 4 just finished 3. Now I am working on primal before 6 comes out and I really like primal. 3 was good but lacking in the over all story. 4 was better but the map has way to much stuff in it if you buy the maps and pagen was not in the game enough my opinion.

I just got this game because it was on sale and it’s by far the best game I’ve played in a long time. Probably since I played Fallout 3 the first time when it came out years ago and that’s saying a lot. I have a really short attention span for games as an adult, especially big, open world games and RPG’s. Even though those used to be my favorite games but anyways, this game is a really great game. I’ve heard some mixed reviews about it but steam had mostly good reviews and I’m absolutely addicted to it. I guess if you’re coming from Far cry as a fan, it might have seemed odd but i don’t have any attachment to the series. I played the first and second one and thought they were good but nothing that blew me away but Primal has really drawn me in and it could be the atmosphere honestly. I really like the time period the game takes place in and I love exploring the wilderness. I find myself getting lost more in side quests and exploration more than the actual game’s main story, which is good BTW but the game is very addicting. I only wish I played it when it came out but I never had a next gen console. Wait for it to go on sale again or go to g2a website and get a steam code if you got a pc. It’s worth every penny IMO, if you’re into adventure games in big, open world sandboxes.

Far cry primal is absolutely without a doubt the best far cry game ever made to date as well as one of the greatest, most imaginative and ambitious video games in recent times period. The simplistic storyline is tremendously refreshing and an accurate representation of the probable conflicts between early agrarian and pre-agrarian Indo European societies. This game easily stands with The elder scrolls five Skyrim as potentially one of the greatest video games in all of human history.
