I feel like if Shadow is allowed to be done well as a character, it would allow other media to portray him as more than just the 'edgy hedgy' we've been seeing for the past 4 years. All my Shadow hopes into that Sonic movie 3 🤞🏽

See people hate the wedding scene but honestly I would love a little mini-series of shorts where it's structured like a soap opera called "My boyfriend's a secret GUN agent" and it could be a funny series of shorts where she ALMOST finds out... I think it'd work and be funny lol

I think it’d be interesting to see Robotnik in Sonic 3, because if it takes inspiration from Sonic Adventure 2, then that means that he’s got to swallow his pride and work alongside Sonic to save the world, which is certainly something that this version of Robotnik would probably be very against the idea of it, but eventually caves to it.

And honestly, I think it would be a great way for Robotnik to take a break being evil after the third movie (at least give Jim Carrey a break as well), while the Fourth Movie involves Agent Stone releasing a robot version of Sonic a.k.a Metal Sonic to destroy Sonic and his family.

I just really hope they don’t screw up Shadow. I like what they did with Knuckles, but considering how popular Shadow is and how strict the mandates are, they’re treading into dangerous territory here if he just keeps being Edgy McEdgeLord the Hedgehog like he’s been every game after 06. Also, I don’t really care how it happens at this point. I’m just dying to see Metal Sonic in live action. But it’ll be hard to do if Robotnik ends up not being in it…

I hope they don't kill him off either, shadow being revived wasn't why shadow started doing shitty, it's what they did with his revival that fucked it up. I'm personally not worried about them screwing up shadow, if they can fix knuckles, they can fix shadow.

@@DeltaBlazin I hope they do kill him off as he’ll most likely be played as a villain until the end, though unlike Knuckles, would cause a lot more damage. Him sacrificing his life is good. Honestly, I just expect a post credit scene with Shadow being alright.

@@DeltaBlazin i’d prefer if the post credit scene (if it’s what i say) didn’t have any dialogue, but if it did, it’d probably be G.U.N. inviting shadow to work for them, the reason being to work off prison time or something, skipping shadow the hedgehog entirely. i mean, with this universe the alien invading thing could work! but i think a moral dilemma with shadow working for G.U.N. and finding out his past with black doom is a lot cooler

I honestly really want Agent Stone to take over as the main villain at some point. I can't think of a single time one of Eggman's sidekicks took over his role aside from maybe Neo Metal Sonic in the IDW comics, but he's less of a sidekick and really just a creation. Also, I can't imagine the climax of this next movie without Live and Learn playing.

A good way to end Carrey's Robotnik arc would be to involve Gerald like in SA2. In the end of the game we see Eggman team up with the heroes to save the world from his grandfather. The movie could climax in a similar way, with Robotnik ending the trilogy reformed in a way, opening the door for new villains in the future. This could be a way to get Agent Stone to have a turn as the main villain. Robotnik turns himself in to GUN, confusing Stone and becoming resentful towards Sonic and friends thinking it's their fault his idol got locked up.

Then we can get other villains such as Chaos, Infinite, Black Doom, Zavok & The Deadly Six, Metal Sonic/Neo Metal Sonic, and Solaris. But for Agent Stone, I can imagine him taking up the "Eggman" moniker(Just gotta go bald and get that weird looking mustache) meaning we could get other Eggbots or Badniks from the games, unless we're going with Eggman Nega for that. But that idea of yours sounds interesting and a perfect send off for Jim Carrey as Robotnik.

@@liamphibia Yeah! There’s a high chance that since Jeff Fowler and the team knows what they are doing when it comes to Sonic, that they will have a good script that will convince Jim Carey to come back and play Eggman again, with a fat suit game outfit for Eggman.

The marriage scene itself wasn't bad. What was awful was the scene of Rachel going after her Fiance. It had absolutely zero Sonic characters (unless you count the GUN leader, which I don't), lame action, and a conclusion that we would have caught on to when we saw the GUN leader tied up later. It was entirely pointless.

The marriage scene may have been overextended but I think it served a purpose: set up GUN for the third movie. I feel the real reason we even had the Sonic movied set in Earth was because the writers wanted to make a Sonic Adventure 2 adaptation, and humans are kinda essential for that. I was afraid Shadow would just be a clone of Sonic, but with the reveal that project Shadow happened 50 years ago and related to the Robotnik name, it feels they are aiming to be as faithful to the essence of the character as possible. I hope Amy Rose appears, as she's the one to touch Shadow's conscience like Maria did. I'm not sure Rouge can be translated well to the big screen, thought.

You know what I liked? The fact that Longclaw actually died. They really had the guts to do that in the film even tho it would’ve been super easy to have her been taken prisoner or something. Also I know this was stated in the prequill comic beforehand but still :)

While I did find it funny I think it went to long without interruption. Think about it after they cage up Sonic and Tails we spend like 7 or 8 unbroken minutes focusing on the ladies specifically Rachel on a war path. They could've done it while cutting to the team escaping and it'd be better. But if I came in and saw just that scene I would never believe this was a Sonic movie.

@@alphawolf7417 I came up with an idea for how it could’ve been a bit better. If that was the scene where they teased Amy. Explanation being that she arrived on Earth shortly after Tails did after sensing the Sonic Boom. She figured out that it was from another hedgehog, so she wanted to meet them. Things got too hectic in Hawaii though, so she kept a low profile, but helped out Maddie and Rachel while keeping her identity secret via maybe a cloak. How would the viewers know who she was? She had her Piko-Piko hammer out after knocking out a few GUN agents. After a very brief conversation, she ran off, watching from the sidelines.

If Robotnik “Dies” there are some possible routes they could take with him So in the archie comics, Robotnik dies and puts his concious into a cyborg suit, so he could end up doing that He might die entirely, so Shadows motivation could be about vengeance for the Robotnik family (Gerald Robotnik, Maria, Ivo) Worst case scenario, stone becomes the Eggman, OR he revives Eggman somehow

This for me was the biggest point of dissatisfaction with these Sonic movies. For the longest time Sonic has been defined by soft-rock soundtracks but the director chose to go for these orchestral scores and funk. I get that trends change but Sonic is an icon of the 90s so now is not the time to reinvent his style.

im pretty confident that paramount will adapt his character well, they literally don't have to try too hard to make shadow a more interesting character than he is in his current state lol I'd love to see Amy but im wondering how they would introduce her. because with tails he used his gizmos to track sonic and had a very clear motivation for seeking sonic out, same with knuckles. im not sure how Amy would get to earth, and why she would go there. unless sonic traveled to where Amy is accidentally and found her.

No. Amy is at her best when she isn't defined by her fascination with Sonic, and it'd be weird going into that when Tails was introduced already as a Sonic fanboy, we don't need a fangirl as well. If she's brought in she certainly should still get a crush on Sonic, but they need to keep the obsessive stuff on the down low. Let it be cute without being off putting.

Another thing I want to add is a bit of change in the tone. The first and second movie has been quite light hearted, but since shadow is coming next, I feel like it should be a little bit darker and not to light hearted considering shadow backstory and all. And also the movie should be much bigger in scale, especially if they accurately follow through the source material, which I'm pretty they would

It’s gonna be hard to properly adapt the story to the movie verse AND to keep the movie rated pg. I mean, Maria and everyone on that satellite or whatever the space ship thing is, those people were shot. Like, that’s really dark for a family movie

I think my biggest concern for the third movie is Eggman himself. Since this is based off of SA2, Eggman would be at his most human and vulnerable state with his grandfather. I hope they don’t mess that up, as so far, Eggman has felt more Jim Carrey than Eggman, and I would love to see Eggman expanded upon.

My only wishes for this movie are for Rouge to show up The story being reminiscent of SA2 Possible zone traveling? And this one is kinda out of the water, but I think it would be amazing if Shadow said something close to “Wheres that - forth chaos emerald” even if it was bleeped by background noise or something, I think it would just be amazing to imply that movie Shadow swears

@@SAsaiyajin because in a Twitter Takeover, the voice actor of Shadow couldent say Damn cause sega wouldent let the official voice actors say anything to refrence that they swear. And to the crap thing, its not a swear but instead a substitute for a swear, it doesnt imply that the character swears, but instead does the opposite, making the character seem to have a no swearing tolerance.

I mean Shadow's my favourite; so getting him and his origin story right and giving him something to do in spinoffs & sequels is a big one. But another one is around music. I know everyone probably wants Live & Learn, but if there's one song I want in the movie for a scene that is almost essential for the story is 3 Black Noises piano version. That playing in a Shadow & Maria flashback would leave such an impact

Whilethe wedding is definitely the weakest part of the movie, it was really enjoyable for what I think it's true purpose is: establishing GUN for the third film and specifically Randall as a gun agent AND allie of Sonic. Since the announcement of the third film was so soon, it make sense that they already have some plot beat in mind when writing the second movie. I can imagine the Writers saying "We are adapting SA2 next, we need to have GUN in this one in a somewhat antagonist role si that we have less legwork to do next movie with the Time that we have." "The family need an ally un GUN for exposition and to facilitate some parts of the plot. His name is Randall, Let's introduce him too." "How do we put him closer to be an ally? How about he fall in love with the sister?" "Great! Just need some conflict to be intertaning." And we have the wedding.

They must make Shadow as good as Knuckles. I'm so sick of his "Oh EdGy HeDgY hAhA" portrayal in games so much that it made me not like him in some areas. It would be great if they redeemed his personality in the movie, just like Knuckles, and hope Jim Carrey as Eggman returns and this is his final movie, it would be a nice end to his cinema career, and he'll be also very threatening since it'll probably be an adaptation of SA2. And if they make the Sonic Movie 3 based off SA2 i want to see Amy and Rouge as well. While kind of overrated female Sonic characters, they're still real great, and Rouge would be a perfect introduction in the Sonic tv series on Paramount + since it focuses on Knuckles and Amy would be nice to be introduced right there in the 3rd movie, it isn't too far fledged since Tails was introduced alongside Knuckles in the second movie. Tom and Maddie can also do something if they don't wanna add Amy or Rouge, and please make them do something aside from mundane slice of life stuff. So, that's all i want from this movie. I will end up LOVING it if it ends up this way.

@Nigel Stoney Amy and Rouge are just as popular as Shadow because there's already a demand for female Sonic characters to an appearance. Amy should be there to help remind Shadow what Maria's actual wish is before she dies and Rouge should be there to spy on Eggman for G.U.N.

I understand the situation with Jim Carrey, but I personally don’t want Eggman to disappear anytime soon. Imagine Sonic colours and generations without Eggman… exactly, those games would be nothing without him! Same story with the movies. It just feels wrong to replicate previous events without the one person who triggered them in the first place.

Ben Schwartz is pretty good tho. He sounds a lot more like Jason than the current sonic VA in games. Since Ben sounds more like Jason, I think he’s doing a good job.

I think the human moments, specifically the snowpoint and wedding scenes, are almost fine and could work, but definitely needed some touching up. Sonic's human characters have always seemed to have that charm of being quirky one off moments (Sonic literally breaks into the President's limo to talk then peaces out), and I think the dance segment was fine, if only maybe trimmed down a little. The wedding part and the "dad/friend" part of the movie definitely did not need as much attention as it did, but the pissed off bride shooting everything up and basically everybody revealed as GUN agents was funny enough for me to enjoy their inclusion, had that been all we saw of the wedding plot. We don't need to know what's happening in Hawaii or what anyone thinks of each other, but if it was just left to the important bits it would be funny quick gags of humans being weird and stupid before the plot moved on. Hoping that if the next movie continues with the human stuff they leave it at that.

This might be pushing it but I hope they have Gamma in the next movie along with Shadow and Rouge. They can work together as a team, Gamma could get damaged then in the end credit scene after Shadow's turned good we could see Gamma be rebuilt as Omega

That honestly sounds really good! Rouge already has a reason to be in the movie, as she’s a jewel thief and would definitely learn about the Chaos Emeralds being freed from the Master Emerald. She would definitely chase that and eventually team up with Eggman and Shadow. Honestly, I’m more concerned on how they’ll do Knuckles and Rouge! They’re like the only two characters in the series that had actual romantic tension, in my opinion. I’m not sure if Amy will be in it, but I think there’s a good chance of her regardless. Amy could’ve done tarot card readings, found out her lover is Sonic, and chase him. Or she could’ve been a friend of Tails… There’s a lot there! Metal Sonic doesn’t seem very likely, and I only say that because of the Knuckles spin off. Metal Sonic would be the best possible antagonist for a Knuckles spin off, that is, if his spin off takes place in the present day. Metal Sonic can act as the Egg-Robo and Mecha Sonic from Sonic 3’s Knuckles story. Or Knuckles Chaotix! They’ll might put the Chaotix in the Knuckles spin off, too. Every other character doesn’t really have a reason to be there. Silver and Blaze have too complicated backstories. Big and Cream can really only serve as cameos. The Babylons… Definitely not.

Also I was glad Randall didn’t marry Rachel and hope they don’t marry. For months, I thought she was gonna marry Wade and was disappointed when the final trailer revealed Randall. Like c’mon man! They were totally teasing the idea of Rachel and Wade in that deleted scene from the first movie 😂

@Nigel Stoney maybe they could combine elements. Like after Sonic rescues Amy, they are both running away from Metal Sonic similar to the terminator films. Eggman sends Metal Sonic to capture Sonic but fails after the latter defeats Metal Sonic. Eggman discovers Shadow and sends him to fight Sonic after he defeated Metal Sonic, for one last time. We can see both Shadow and Metal Sonic make the movie darker since the former lacks emotion in terms of tone.

Exactly. The entire point of the scene was to setup GUN for the third movie so it wasn't exactly filler. They made GUN'S introduction all the more entertaining by having it conveyed in that scene.

Neither of those scenes were filler which you somewhat said but: The dance scene as you said was their to grow the bond between sonic and tails and no it isn't just something that could have been done throughout that makes no sense. I agree the scene could have been better but it is not filler. The wedding plot also wasnt filler as like it or not they needed to give the humans something to do, you either forcefully have them in the main plot which would have sucked or give them a side plot so neither are filler

about the dance scene there was one that about it that confused me so the reason they were having that dance off is so they could get their map and back and so the people in the bar wouldn't kill them tails i could understand why he was afraid but why was sonic afraid when he could easily take out everyone in there with his powers and just take the map from them.

The issue with the wedding subplot is that it was self serving. It didn't tie back into the other stories for the movie beyond explaining how madie and Tom got green hills.

I think the scene would have worked without Rachel's Bridezilla moment where she's driving the golfcart. like we could have focused on maddie sneaking past the gun soldiers. More importantly, I wish they would have included a scene where Tom and Sonic could have had a heart-to-heart. Like at the beginning of the movie, they set up a conflict where Tom views himself as a dad to Sonic, but Sonic doesn't want Tom to act like his dad. That should have been fleshed out a little more and I think the wedding could have been that scene. But also, I think the most important relationship in this franchise is Sonic and Tom because it's the story of a surrogate father who wants the best for this hedgehog that's not actually his son.

My biggest hope for Sonic 3 is for Shadow to be written like he was in Adventure 2, Heroes, and 06, where he's a dark but quiet hero who cares about others and not as Edgy the Edgehog like in his spinoff game, Colors Era, and ESPECIALLY Boom. Tails and Knuckles were nailed so perfectly in Sonic 2 so it does have me cautiously optimistic.

them making Sonic 3 kinda worries me in terms of story since Sonic Adventure 2 has a very.. VERY dark story, the two sonic movies were mainly geared for children in this case, especially with the fact that there was a kid named Maria who died from getting shot, i hope they don’t make Shadow some type of edgelord kid just because he was changed to be that way after 06, they are in a world of dark story that was actually good for these characters and not like the first or second movie, they actually make this 3rd one a little more serious, also either way you put it Amy Rose HAS to be in the movie, she was the main reason why Shadow turned good in the first place and it really stood up

Honestly I always imagined the Sonic movie series as a four part series, something like this: Sonic 1: Sonic and Robotnik origin story Sonic 2: Tails, Knuckles, Death Egg Robot, Super Sonic Sonic 3: Shadow, Rouge, inspired by SA2 Sonic 4: Silver, Amy, time travelling adventure in which Sonic, Shadow and Silver try to prevent the end of the world

They have way too many characters and stories to end at 4 movies. If they keep making money, they can easily make 7/8. Use inspirations from sonic 06(silbers and the other hedgehigs) unleashed, colors, etc. Room for og stories and stories inspired by comics too(Ik there is the issue of copyright with that)

I don’t think Rouge will come. But because most of the fandom wants Paramount to complete the trademark, Shadow and Amy will most likely appear. Amy can be introduced a different way, since there’d be no point in adding Metal after Shadow.

I hope they stay close to shadows story. Its one of the best arcs in the sonic franchise and thats why i love. I like him edgy as well but stay true to who he was in sonic adventure. Also if sonic and shadow go super together, then they HAVE TO GO IN SPACE. It doesn't have to be against the lizard, just something similiar but i WANT THEM IN SPACE! It might be conterversal but I actually think its a good idea to have him scrifice himself just like the original game but HE STAYS DEAD. Of course I would love to see him return but i feel if you killed him off with a heroic scrifice like that, it'll make his death so much more emotional. Always have your audience wanting more. After SA2, shadow got beated down hard also.......... CRUSH 40 COME ON!!!!!

I'm gonna say this right now. Super Sonic looked so amazing in the movie! I got so excited and amazed by how well the animation was done. I absolutely hate Shadow's personality now. He just seems way more edgy, distant, and cruel. I'm not sure why Sega changed his character like that. I loved his personality in SA2/Sonic X. He was kind of edgy and distant but that was mainly due to losing Maria. So, in way, he's just a depressed hedgy. I have no doubt that Paramount will be Shadow justice just by how well they did Tails and Knuckles. Since Eggman might not be in the third film, we'll have more characters to get to know besides Shadow. And, like you said, Amy and Rouge would be great additions due to that they've both influenced Shadow at some point. This could be Jim Carrey's decision to "retire" right now, but it might change.

Something I want to be in at least one of the movies, is some version on Dark sonic, or Fleetway Super Sonic. Just some form of evil sonic, even if it's only for a few minutes. I just think I could make some great conflict in the movie and further build on the relationship between sonic and the other characters.

Fleetway has VERY little chance or appearing, and yes, dark sonic was really evil.. it was more controlled rage and negative energy from the false chaos emeralds that made him go dark super sonic. But, again, I do think it could make a good scene in the movie, and perhaps as a little redemption scene for Shadows(since he'll probably start off as the antagonist in the third movie)where he's the one who get Sonic to stopped and calm down. Again, I know it has little chance of happening, but its nice to hope for it

I loved the second Sonic movie, it’s my favourite piece of storytelling since Black Knight. I just wish that Sega listened to the fans after we complained the first time about Pontaff. Colors wasn’t really that bad of a story but Lost World is when they should’ve been fired. Forces had a lot of potential but then they made Tails a pussy, brought back Classic Sonic, and Sonic was revealed alive the cutscene after they said he was dead. Everything was downhill from there. I REALLY liked Tails and Knuckles in Sonic movie 2, their personalities were on point to the adventure games

If I think about it, it seems Movie Sonic can be relatable to this new version of Shadow. Cause if they are going to preserve his backstory, then Sonic can understand Shadow a bit because they both lost a family (Sonic lost Long Claw, mother-figure, while Shadow lost Maria, his best friend and a sister-figure). The only difference between them is how they move on after the lost, which in this case: Sonic hid for 10 years until gaining a new family and friends. Shadow on the other hand, is captured and sealed away for 50 years by the government.

I’m expecting the Sonic movie 3 to have a similar story to Godzilla vs. Kong. Shadow and Sonic fight each other until Metal Sonic (who I redesigned as a Black Arms soldier with blue fur, robotic limbs, and a mask) appears to wreak havoc, and Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles team up with Shadow to stop this third party threat.

I think they'll keep Shadow as the main antagonist for the whole film,so he won't turn good there but Metal Sonic better appear...and it better be in blue not white.

Shadow will turn good in the end, metal sonic also wont appear and he even if he did, he would be blue
