When you cover the Damage Ladder at 1:40 to 1:50, the variance and Crit Damage are actually applied in the opposite order. A successful Crit has the Crit Damage added to the Damage stat before variance is calculated.

Yep this was done before we know what we do now! I think this video predates the discussion all the ambs had with the devs around how it all exactly works and was based on best-guess logic with Towen

Great work you and Towen! I always thought that Eldryon's passive modifies damage from abilities that prohibit modification - after all, this is not a direct ability buff, but an indirect one 🤔

There really should be an underlined keyword for ability damage that "ignore bonus and modifiers and cannot crit"

I don't understand the difference between the Buffs existing damage stat and the conditional buffs. For example Abaddon's Passive vs Eldryon's Passive. Why is the first an exisiting buff and the second a conditonal?

Really like this series. A lot of good thought in breaking down how things are calculated. I asked a few people and maybe someone here can answer- specifically with abilities like Maugan Ra Active & Passive, wouldn't the Aethana passive count for Ra as Inescapable Accuracy has a crit chance and buffs Marguetar? I'm not sure if the damage is added or just the crit chance or neither. Seems like it'd be no base damage but conditional crit would still apply. Anyone know for sure?

Maugan Ra’s normal attacks get both the damage and crit chance buffs from Aethana, his active only gets the crit chance bonus. Maugan Ra’s own passive is added to his normal attack and his active

How do attacks with multiple hits fit into the damage ladder. Is each hit summed up at the first step and then the +/-20% applied to that total? Or does each hit go through the ladder to the critical hit/damage step? Interesting to see how Eldyron’s Doom ability compares to Calgar’s buff on something like Bellator’s 6 hit melee attack.

Each hit goes all the way through to the end of the damage ladder separately

Defensive debuffs use the same rules and work exactly the same as attacking buffs, they just have negative numbers instead of positive numbers

What program do you use to play Mobile games on your PC? I've been looking around but have yet to find a reliable program. I've been trying to get Blue Stacks to work, but I keep having issues with it not installing Tacticus. Are you aware of any alternatives?

My biggest complaint about this game falls under the subjects touched upon by this video. It is impossible for me to predict the damage a character will be dealing to a target specially pvp. I know there is a rough estimate and there is also a visual cue in the form of red health-bar on top of them as well as being aware of terrain advantages and all that jazz, my problem is that the upper limit and lower limit for the damage your character will deal is so massive that I cant strategize properly on my attack priorities.

I mean you can up to a certain degree but like most things there will always be an rng element. I like this way personally as it allows the underdog to possibly get the upper hand in an unbalanced match. Obviously this will be more of a rarity but I like it nonetheless.

Ist's a good Guide for Players who will start to deepdive into the Game mechanics. Ty 4 that! But why u're running at this speed through this Video?It's full packed with information, text, infographics, additional comments. All of that comes like a bullet from a gun speed.Maybe a little bit slower, so that not everyone needs to watch this Vid 20 or more times, allways with their Fingers upon the Pause button. 🤔

I think this was perfectly fine. It's just complex. All you really need from this is the 3 example damage calculations and the existing buffs list which he shows that's it. Every necessary info is in them.

Still, there is something fishy about those calculations... For instance: On several occasions my Calandis did more than 2,000 dmg - at the same time her base dmg is 900 and crit dmg is 400!! Two thousand points of damage should not be possible... She should be capable of doing 1,480 dmg at most...
