About 45 minutes in Tyson claimed the fundamental issue with modern education was that rather than feeding curiosity it is "being handed a sachel of books containing information, which you must then memorize, and regurgitate" I literally said that, almost word for word in school and I was told by my principal when I repeated it "that is the educational system, how else would you propose we teach you?" with a smug and entertainined smile. I wish that this was a genuine question rather than a mere dismissal . It's taken over a decade for me to have a genius like Neil confirm my belief that this form of education is fundamentally flawed. Educators can be some of the best and worst people in your life. I resent the ones I had, but not having met them. I learned from their cognitive weakness rather than feeding into it. They will be dead and they will not have pressed their beliefs because they know them to be untrue. I will live on and I will press that which I believe because I believe them to be based on fact.

Dr. Tyson, I have a theory that all living creatures (including plants) are capable of a conscious and emotions. I have experienced communication and understanding personally with plants, animals, and insects. I can see communication in plants with my 20/20 eyes, by using my peripheral vision and watching the leaves/branches that move in sync. I believe that the motion made by a plant with a gust of wind, is the will of the plant and not the happenstance of the wind gust. I wish to speak with an enlightened mind upon these topics to better understand the world we are in. I am a follower of Karma. I send you my best wishes.

The problème with science : you dont have time. You must believe. The instruments you use to take measures, you must learn about how they work and what they measure. You must believe in what the conceptor of the instruments tells you it does. Plus, a principle of science is that an experiment should be reproducible, but for that you need the instruments, the time, the team, the money , and hell how the instruments are costly. Those things are not accessible for the common public. Even in universities you have agendas of different people who need the same instrument for their own research, and sometimes or often they fight each others for that. Not counting the universities who don't have money to have instruments at all.

if universe created us it would be impossible to understand it. The sense is that universe is all. And to understand all we must be it the universe. Which will never happen as such a consciousness as an individual like human or any kind. That is because a plausible conclusion that we can't amass the data from universe without becoming it itself. So yeah, we can by the way learn many things and collect as much data as we possible can etc, but will never be enough. So maybe death has something to do with being part of the universe as a whole, this in the sense that consciousness maybe be something that dissolves back to the universe and this same energy is what fill the universe but we cant detect it except when we are alive. Those though about the subject happens because I try to connect everything, and as far as i get old no one come with a good explanation, but there are some peoples that show wisdom about the subject, not really a answer and mine though will be no different but the thing is that we can be sure that the universe is something alive. Any way, those are some thought and i am not really good to expose them, some may read it until here and make sense, other will just laugh... But this is something no one know for sure, and i do believe it is an impossible task. We can only deduce a probable answer.
