mongols are very good at grappling sports ,they have twenty five olympic medals ,twenty three of them are fighting sports ,boxing ,wrestling ,judo and have had sumo world champion,the other two medals are womens pistol shooting,what does that say about their warrior heritage

When you're using the jacket, the grip makes a world of difference. You can and should grab the body at times but if you don't maintain some jacket grip you're likely to get tossed.

Instead of just facing each and gripping, why try to get around opponents arms, and take back? There are no gripping rules restricting that.

MbisonBalrog if someone has a really strong grip it can be impossible to break it. You can’t take a guy’s back if his big goon hand is holding the jacket

Yes, but when you do, and can break the grip. It is not like everyone has an unbreakable grip. And even if you do possess one, why not let go, and go for back?

The effort of trying to break someone’s grip and take their back when they are not letting you is probably ridiculously high compared to facing them and throwing them over your leg or something. I don’t have any grappling experience I’m just theorising.

Question, I've taken a bit of Shuai Jiao here at the Las Vegas Kung Fu Academy, but it's mixed in with various forms of grappling (BJJ, Wrestling). I was wondering if Shuai Jiao is primarily just throws and take downs, or does it also practice submission techniques?

There are a few different applications to Shuai Jiao...sport, combat, self defense. It has submissions but most are from standing/kneeling positions since it was taught to imperial army and therefore groundwork like BJJ wasn't preferred. That being said, the art focuses on throwing and controlling (Qin Na) which includes standing and ground locks. There are strikes but in a non traditional sense that every grab is also a strike and sweeps are considered kicks but few actual punches or kicks like in an Eastern or Western boxing tradition.
