Again, well done Anthony really love the simple way you describe each and every aspect of the function you are describing. Keep up the good work. Again, many thanks, Neil

Hey Anthony, first thanks for all your free videos. You mention the distortions are because of the lens. For the inwards falling to the center of the image, I think you are right. But the backwards falling distortion is (I am pretty sure about that) perspective distortion which actually is no real distortion but a mathematically correct transformation from 3D to a 2D image. For everyone: Things to solve this problem/minimize it: Go on distance and make sure picture plane is parallel to the object you are shooting. BTW interesting fact about perspective: With a really high FOV, you could photograph 2 same sized objects, one being 1000x farer away from the camera than the other one and when the picture plane would be parallel to both objects (or in other words: the distance to an infinite picture plane would be the same for both object) both objects would appear the same size even though as mentioned 1 objects is 1000 times farer away from the camera. So many people think it´s the distance of objects to the camera that makes objects look smaller (here top and bottom of a sky scrapper) or the lens distortion, but in reality it´s the distance to an infinite picture plane. You notice that in computer games when you play highFOV. You look at far objects and in the center they appear far away and small, but then you rotate the camera/the player and these objects get huge and stretched. This is because the picture plane rotates and the distance to this picture plane gets way smaller even though the distance to the camera itself stays the same. It looks distorted, but it isn´t. Its mathematically correct. If you guys have problems understanding this learn about pinhole cameras and imagine rays going through it.

Thanks a lot for your video. How do you change the grid squares while using the transform tool?

Great video! For some reason when I scroll over the Transform tools it doesn't show the grid lines, do you happen to know how to enable this?

Thank You! There is a helpful grid, which appears when I hover over the sliders in Transform tab..For some reason it disappeared in my LTR CC...I think there was a shortcut which enables this grid? Can anyone remind it please? :)

AM, you also posted this segment to the Mastering On1 playlist. I know it must be a real mental challenge to keep all the software products sorted out so no harm no foul. I got confused for a moment as On1 has a "transform" tool which you had covered a few days ago. Frankly, I have not idea how you manage to keep the old film stuff sorted out from the various digital/software stuff. Mind boggling for me.

Thanks for the video Anthony. Quick question: Didn't this tool use to correct for pincushioning? How does Lightroom do that now?

Jay Barclay If it’s caused by the lens used, the correct lens correction profile will, once applied. If the profile doesn’t exist for the specific lens, the closest focal length/type will usually work.

Wouldn’t it be great if Adobe would enable the transform tool as a local (e.g., brush) adjustment - to fine tune a segment of an image?
