This is way more informative than I could have imagined- thank you! I just got the results of my biopsy and it is benign when there was major concern that it was not (on the mammogram).

I just had 2 3d mammograms with 2 call backs a rude Radiologist who acted like it was a problem to answer any questions I had as to why I get call backs every time. I feel like I deserve to have answers and have the right to ask about my health. I have calcifications,

Oh I can’t even begin with experience I had a call back for screening mammogram for a 5mm mass they bypassed the diagnostic and went straight to ultrasound where they found an additional echoic focus besides the mass they didn’t even bother to tell me it was an entirely new finding and not from my cluster of calcifications from 2014 and when I insisted on a diagnostic mammogram oh my lord !!! I’ve had to fight tooth and nail I also scheduled myself for a surgery consult because the two radiologist wanted me to wait 6 months I missed my mammogram last year so there is no telling how large it’s grown in 2 years I don’t live my life by probably not cancer my twin sister has A typical hyperplasias and if she would of waited 6 months she would have had to go through radiation etc I’m so exhausted and pissed off I have a patient advocate now and this has gone to the Cheif medical officer and compliance officer

@@sharon268 I have been sick for 2 years, Im alone with no support. I will know Friday if I have breast cancer, and now worried that I have secondary or this is secondary - or-or …he biggest problem, other than being sick is that it is super hard at times to advocate for myself. And ya, I can get rude people and in trying to advocate for myself, ie “ you are not giving me enough info to make a decision “ only makes those medical professionals madder, because they are in the wrong biz, its not in their heart, its about the money. When their is a third person, the patient bypasses the comeback. an I ask how you got an advocate? I just take my doggos, and I love it like when I left the hospital after 2 hours, f.u. mammo turned into us and then biopsy and I love it that my dogs were just glad to see me! But I would welcome an advocate and didn’t think about it until now. Where does one go for advocacy? thanks and best of luck to you.

I had a very small lump (I found) 4.5 yrs ago & all tests / including a biopsy & was noted as benign but, due to my extreme cancer family history & wanted it removed (Margins & Lymph nodes were not removed) & at the time of surgery my surgeon noted it looked benign but, 5 days later I received the call it was cancerous…2nd surgery to remove margins/lymph node (clear). This year 2022 had my mammogram in April (Clear) & then in approximately in July I found another small lump & had a MRI w/contrast & ultrasound & was noted as benign again but, opted to have it removed & again looked by surgeon as benign but, at 5 days the pathology lab was needing more time & considering a second opinion by another pathology lab = cancerous but, different from the first cancer (The note starts out as this is an interesting and challenging case: History of left micro invasive carcinoma arising in association with papillary duct Al carcinoma in situ diagnosed in 2018 / In this one atypical structures represent a intracystic papillary carcinoma with a very focal solid component). Margins were taken but, not the lymph nodes. I’m scheduled for mastectomies in February 🤔

thank you! about 1/3 through the video. had 2 biopsies and its day 2 of awaiting results. 😢 im 61 and went through menopause 8 years ago? bc of total hysterectomy bilateral oopharectomy. No HRT 🙏

I’m going this week for a biopsy for calcifications. 12 years ago I had a lumpectomy in the same area. I’m trying to figure out if all this is necessary. My first cancer was in the milk ducts. It was insitu. I wish I could figure this out. I had the radiologist show me my films. I’m so confused. The tiny solid white dots are not in the ducts. I suppose I better go along. It’s an awful position to be in. Thank you for your information doctor!! You’re doing God’s work.

Just leave those alone...they may never become cancerous. This is a business running on scared women. The risks in overdiagnosis and false positive in mammography are huge

So true! I'm 72 years old, and EVERY time I have a mammogram, (always a 3D tomosynthesis one) I'm told I need a biopsy! This has been going on for years now, and lately it's been due to calcifications. I'm tired of unnecessary biopsies, and stopped mammograms altogether for nearly 4 years. Went again last month for mammogram, and was yet again told I need a biopsy. Only this time, not for the right breast, which is what they told me I needed it for last time, and which I refused, but now for the left side! (They now want me to return in 6 mos. for a follow-up mammo on the right side, though I refused that, too.) So against my better judgement, I had a biopsy last week on the left side (small group of amorphous calcifications which radiologist said she couldn't see well due to my dense breasts--but that sounds like it should be her problem, not a reason to tell me I need biopsy and mammo every 6 months!) Of course, the latest left side false alarm turned out to be "no cancer cells detected", yet they found a radial scar on biopsy (incidental biopsy finding) and even though radial scars don't turn into cancer, the radiologist referred me to a surgeon consult for removal of it! TALK ABOUT INSANITY!? (And of course, I'm in the US.)

My calcification turned into a 10x4 cm tumor. Ductile Carcinoma In Situ. Cancer of the milk ducts. In 10 days I will have a mastectomy. The mammogram showed calcification. For 10 yrs of regular mammograms everything "is fine" now all of a sudden it's a monster tumor. They say it's slow growing. Then how did it get that big in one year? The MRI revealed it was 10x4. The mammogram showed 7x2 cm.

Get second opinions on your pathology. Usually digital slides(hopefully a good number of them to review). Send them to a breast pathologist who has extensive experience. Most insurance pays for 2nd opinions. You can send those digital images easily to a top specialist in another lab which is independent of the one that diagnosed yours. Dense breast tissue and using 2D mammography may be why it was missed before. Plus slower growing lower grade does not show up as well. Yes the MRI can spot smaller cancers better... My best! 😊

@@toricollins6516 I'm doing good. Thanks for asking. I had an immediate implant and got a killer infection and had to get it taken out. I dealt with that situation for about 3 months. Finally healed and took some time off to regroup. I have a prosthesis I use occasionally but most of the time I'm just me. Nobody cares if I have a boob or not. In a month or so I'm going back to the breast surgeon and get the floppy tissue fixed up and smoothed out and calling it good. 😊

Dr . I have to go for a biopsy because in the mammogram it shows calcification but there is few they don’t know if is calcification they say is suspicious. How they don’t know what it is . Because they can’t see well in the mammogram.

What do you think about lymphatic drainage, in ductal ectopia? Applying massage therapies,bloqueos estrogénicos, hormonas ect .. would it be effective?

As a radiologist and content creator, I cannot speak to the effectiveness of massage therapy, hormone therapy, and other forms of lymphatic drainage in cases of ductal ectopia. You should discuss it with your healthcare provider. Have you had any personal experience with this?

For my part I was using binaurals, very effective, I recommend it in these cases... doctors should update their therapies.

I just had a mammogram. it said benign calcifications some fairly extensive nodularity to residual breast parenchyma, multiple nodular opacities and numerous cyst BIRADS 0 I have to have an ultrasound. anyone can tell me what that means?

Hello I had a focal asymmetry went in for a series of Dx scans two different machines! And no ultrasound! Radiologist said I need a sterocore biopsy I have mammogram ever year but missed one! As I was taking care of my Grandma may she rest in peace. They always said I have dense tissue and cacifacatin and they said I’m a bi rad 4 but I’m not nervous or worried it’s only 3 mm I said that’s a baby size!

How did it go? Hopefully OK? I'm 72 with dense breasts (and fibrocystic breasts), and diagnosed as BI-RADS 4, too. I stopped going for mammograms for several years because tired of being a pincushion for painful biopsies! Recently returned for 3D mammogram, and was told that due to amorphous calcifications, which I always have in both breasts, I need a stereotactic biopsy this time in opposite breast than they wanted to biopsy on last mammogram, which I wisely refused 3 years ago. All I know is, theyalways complain they can't SEE anything well because my breasts are dense! So in my experience, this is why they ALWAYS want to biopsy after I get a mammogram! I'm gonna have one more biopsy, and then I'm done (my decision.)
