On the first point, I like to call it 'finger vocabulary' - There are just certain combinations of movements that the hand has never made before and needs to learn. I don't think it's actually 'independence' because no finger moves independently to the others, it's always relative.

And another thing. You are sitting in an unusual chair. Is it a Herman Miller? it looks comfortable, I think.

I wish it were a Herman Miller! I usually use an adjustable piano stool for playing, but this one is a bit more comfortable for recording :)

In The Tradition (Liszt, Chopin, Brahms, Russian 19th century Rubinstein, Jozef Hoffman, Benedetti Michelangeli, Horowitz, Volondat) it is taught that the lower you practice something, the faster you van play it. I had to experiment that with Gradus ad Parnassum. Horrible but afterwards I could play it at any speed.

This is a lie. Liszt did not practice slowly to play fast for instance; and Horowitz too.

What about the rotation of the forearm? Important is relaxing, even though there should not be tenseness in the first place. I found that fast playing only has to do with getting rid of all tensions and unnecessary movements. No finger raising, but maybe wrist a bit higher.
