I was hoping for the "cartwheel kick counter" from GMAnthony, however another excellent and informative video. I - and a lot of WC guys - struggle with wrestlers, I did Judo to help cover that hole, but this video is as good to ask the question of yourself, what would I do against this.

Thank you Lee, with age Anthony has learned that the CWK counter works well unless some nasty bugger sweeps the arm 😉. Seriously, I'm glad you like the video.

From a WC perspective from around 4:29, do you think he could save himself if his left arm stuck to your punching arm and did something 3rd form-ish to recover, or do you think he's to far gone at that point?

Thanks for the question. At that point, I have one control (possibly two) which is an advantage and gives me the opportunity to strike or progress the grapple. This is still in that part of the fight where small actions can spoil the opportunity, so, as you mention it would be possible to stick to the punching arm. Next weekend I intend to look at the control phase of a fight and show how to increase the number of controls making defence much harder.
