Nice video, you can actually refine the support and resistance by creating a hierarchy in terms of the size of the rolling window. For instance a resistance dominating all four candles to its right and to its left should have a higher weight than a resistance only above its closest neighbors. Same for S/R detected on higher timeframes of course.

How would you suggest avoiding look ahead bias when implementing a backtest using these support/resistance levels as a signal? I can imagine doing a basic For Loop and recalculating signals on each iteration, but this would be computationally intensive and negate the vectorized approach you took in the first place to calculate the lines.

Hello my friend,first of all,am very proud of you with this knowledge you have.... please I want to know when you learnt coding...I guess for money right...so why is it that most of you guys who have the knowledge of coding always don't want to code for ppl who had also studied the market and come up with a strategy and are willing to pay for you to code for them.....but you guys always want us to take a course and learn how to code like you....for me I don't want to be jack of all trade....pls do help guys like us ok

I've been around trading for many years, and have seen questions like this one many times. I speak on my own behalf here only - but simply put, to help out someone not willing to put the effort in to learn themselves tends to indicate a lack of knowledge in/of the subject. Hence writing code for them is like handing a loaded gun to a child to play with. Learn to code - it will open your eyes (and best of all close your wallet) to your latest trading system disaster-in-waiting. It can also occasionally show you a possible successful candidate, which makes the hard work worthwhile. The above may seem harsh, but is well intended.

Not sure why, but when I simply changed the ticker from ^GSPC to TSLA, no support or resistance lines show up in the graphs. The candles are still there and look correct.

8:19 your simplified version of filtering by specifying difference of 100 is good for this specific price chart. To make it fit any chart i need to use author's approach, or you have something similar?

Wait this is not correct, you found if a middle candle is the lowest low of windows of 5, but you forgot to check that the low are decreasing before and increasing after the middle one, this is essential to the fractal pattern.
@Algovibes
@Algovibes Жыл бұрын
Everything shown in this video ist 100% correct. Your definition of a fractal pattern is wrong. It is simply the lowest low among 5 candles with the shown centered logic. I am doing it exactly as the author which is also doing it correct just using a vectorized approach.
@terahlunah
@terahlunah Жыл бұрын
@@Algovibes I just used the definition you showed in the video (and in the article) "A fractal is a candlestick pattern made by 5 candles. The third candle has the lowest low price, the previous candles have decreasing lows and the next candles have increasing lows." But please don't take it as an offensive comment, I love your content, and adding this increasing/decreasing rule is easy to do. I just wanted to make sure I understood everything :)
@digilan2005
@digilan2005 11 ай бұрын
@@Algovibes @terahlunah is actually correct. In your video the definition from the article states that previous candles have DECREASING LOWS and the next candles have INCREASING LOWS. If you are using a fractal definition that is not from that article then perhaps you are right?!? This is easy to verify, your code will not yield the the same results as the code in the article.
