Still learning on the welds but I have a Flux welder but I do anything major automotive with it , but I always like to learn I never knew about the rosette welds I know about plug welds thanks for the video, dad's are a good teacher I try to do this with my son. Keep the metal hot

Thank you for this video of darn good info about welding....I myself have not gone to school to learn about welding...I just pick up on tips and how to videos ....I like how well you explained the different types and I think in the past I used the wrong terms when I say I'm doing a certain weld...this video helped me a lot ...thank you sir.

You bet One62projects and like I kind of alluded to in it..... as long as your doing the right thing where it's needed, it's all good no matter what you call it... lololol. The part I confused myself in, is at the end there..... in sheet metal and you are over lapping the 2 metals, if you drill a hole into both of them and weld it, that's a Rosette (kind of like a continuous round butt weld that fills the hole), if you only drilled a hole in 1 of them so you have the backing, that's a Plug weld.

As an alternative to a butt weld, use a full penetration weld. Leave a gap about the thickness of the metal, between the two pipes, and the inner sleeve in place. The inner sleeve will be your backup. Tack, then weld, filling the gap. This type of weld is a prequalified weld. The strength will be equal to the pipe. I have never heard of a rosette weld. Good information. I don’t weld, only design structural welds. When designing new welds we would do a test weld and cut it up and stain it, and check for penetration.

I'm using a Titanium Unlimited 200 (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux & spool) and in this I'm using MIG with 030 wire. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by man!

And then there is the terminology Down Under (Australia 🇦🇺) in aviation that is completely different methods again 🤦🏻 haha! My suggestion, weld the required method/amount in accordance to the job at hand.
