Claire is a practicing geriatrician who has recently taken to research to try to understand how some older individuals become frail, while others successfully age. She graduated with first class honours from Cambridge University and Bart's and the London Medical School, and spent several years working the acute medicine wards in central London. Finding so many unanswered questions about how we treat, and how we might prevent frailty, she competed for and won a Wellcome Trust Research Fellowship to investigate the key to successful ageing within older twins.
About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I am not saying this information is rubbish, but my grandmother was a big walker and still suffered from alzheimers. But I am still inspired to resume my beloved swimming. Interesting talk!

How to embed exercises into daily life? that's tricky questions because we all have our own pattern for doing it. And most of will benefited if we find exercise-buddy who is not our assistant or someone very conscious about exercise but with whom we want to have a walk with, sharing ideas to each-other. Because this time not only we are physically exercising but our mind is releasing dopamine is well. SO OUR REAL WORK IS TO FIND THAT PERSON then WE don't have to remember or discipline our self.

My dogs walk me every day, and I appreciate it.and I do think better "on the hoof" while brain blood flow is up, though I always thought of it as oxygen level in the brain being up.

FWIW Every 2 hrs find an empty conference room at work and do as many burpees as you can- I'm up to 20. It might be harder for ladies obviously but for a guy I've been doing this for years. Full body workout and no one will even notice!

SLS, l live on a boat in Key west,my work gives me my rest from adventures,I have to motor in to an island with my compost for our island garden, I’m a little over a mile from the dingy dock, I swim almost every day, since covid, my special study is virology,2 to 3 hours a night, boaters time is not the same as land time,,tomorrow morning I’ll dingy over to HomeDepot for some Corel tiles for my beautiful cabinet, teak and mahogany,I’m also an artist,I take pride in my work and when I was in theatre,I treated it like a job also and took pride in it,I learned a lot, got a lot of stage time,in my life I met a lot of wonderful people,I sat on top of the dome of the Seabrook nuclear power plant, worked bridges, navy yards, built homes of all sizes and yah,, I can count the nails in a house, I was on my 4 th piece of property at 26,, 32 acres, quarter mile water frontage Rye NH, my chickens and cows had the most expensive yard than most people could wish,,your right, work isn’t everything and neither is money ,, my children and grandchildren in Quebec are,,stay healthy, peace

@@bobleclair5665 - Great reply Bob. Living on a boat in Key West FL has to be the best place and best way to live. My parents used to take me to FL over the Christmas holidays when I was a kid . I fell in love with FL. I have been to many country's over the years but FL still has a special place in my heart. I hate the cold ,so living in Canada is not my favorite place, but the summers are fantastic. Be well.

SLS,you make the best of where ever you live or with whatever work you do,,hobbies, arts and sports of any type helps make life more interesting, keeps your mind working, being a carpenter,I’ve been in many homes and met a greater number of career people, allowing me a view of different roads I’ve could have taken and yes made better money,,but I chose the freedom that the trades allow,,not always for the better but that’s life, I’ve worked in 20 below weather and over 100 degrees, where you couldn’t pick up your hammer along with other tradesmen, whatever your choice you choose in work,it’s your choice, try to excel in it,life is good and anyhow,it’s all about making memories, that’s all life is ,memories,,try to make them good memories, stay healthy, peace
