That’s how the crowd listens to the likes of MaW in SA, been like that for years. Head bopping, crowd cheering/clapping and some even crying a few will dance . We dance to other genres but this we appreciate differently

it's cool in some ways but I prefer the crowd to be engaged with the music and the dancefloor itself rather than all facing a performer. That, and the popularity contest of 'i get to be up there with the DJs' which i've never been a fan of.

I think SA are used to amapiano heads. I think maw gave them a house educational

@broad405 I think some young people confuse dancing with jumping up and down and screaming.. MAW take you on a journey, they used to play 8 or 9 hours at a time. I just watched every episode from this boiler room and it's like this for every dj pretty much. In America for example for a long time they didn't even face the dj...people appreciate music differently. MAW are incomparable in house music. I get it though...15 years olds who have never been to a club prefer James Hype. There isn't a genre of dance really that these 2 haven't inspired.

@broad405 I was having this convo with my 19 year old cousin who plays out these days... I don't want to hear djs playing a drop every 5 minutes. It's terrible, it's lazy and it leads to no warm up. Hour each, same set in the same order, its more like a routine than djing.

@@deanhaynes3136 I don't have a problem with afrobeats but I barely hear that. They've just been over polluting their channel with techno and other genres I absolutely care nothing about. I won't say it's trash because everyone has their own music taste but it's something I don't care for.

They can only listen to Amapiano there 😜 the crowd is definitely not feeling this House set even when Louie plays some afro grooves I would dance my shoes off. This is the reason that I’m not a fan of dj sets getting recorded I go to clubs most of the time where they don’t record sets film or make photos inside. That is much better for the vibe. If you want to whiteness the vibe just be at the party and stop recording sets and the people that dance it looks a bit awkward some times. And keep the phones out too this is why I love Berlin most clubs there have a no photo film policy. The vibe there is still the same as it was in the 90’s just dance and let yourself go.
