When we decided to make this video, we were worried that it might not work, since we couldn't get any real aircraft, that our accents weren't always going to be spot on, our CGI skills weren't exactly Hollywood level & our knowledge of historical events was a little bit spotty, but then we remembered what show we were covering... For all its pitfalls though, it was still a really enjoyable series, right?

If you've watched Masters of the Air, did you have the same nagging feeling we did? That throughout the whole show there was just one specific group of people that were misrepresented, downplayed, made out to all be the bad guys, and received nowhere near enough credit for their actions.. Yes, that's right, we're talking about the Luftwaffe. Wait... you didn't think we meant the RAF did you?

I love how the Luftwaffe was having meeting before the battle of Britain and Goering believed they had more bombers than they had because he, the head of the Luftwaffe had believed their own propaganda, and he never bothered ro actually check the numbers.

The show was good but it annoyed me how the RAF had basically no representation, and the ending felt a lot like “the Americans save the world look how good we are!” But the show was still great

The beginning reminds me of people I went to High School. Our Social Studies teacher put up an outline of the US with the State boundaries. He went to each student, "Find me Texas" "Find me New Mexico" and then to fill in the blanks with what they thought a State was. So there's now an East Dakota where Minnesota is. Wyoming doesn't exist. New Hampshire is now Massachusetts. Probably for the best.

I know it's a joke video, but I have to say I absolutely adore the nuance you guys packed into this. Pointing out the thing six minutes in where Rosie Rosenthal had an extensive flying record prior to that mission and could literally maneuver a B-17F into a situation where his tail gunner could get hits on for longer against fighters was really neat from you guys, well done.

Yes, my father trained in sunny Childress,Texas after basic at Centre College, Kentucky. Coming from Pennsylvania, he thoroughly enjoyed the absence of snow! PS: After Texas, my father was then sent to Florida to fight the Battle of Miami Beach, i.e. protect the Netherlands Government in Exile, Queen Wilhelmina at the Fontainebleu Hotel. When a hurricane blew thru he won $20 from a fellow Air Corpsman on a bet he could step outside and light a cigarette with his Zippo lighter. He won the bet and singed all the hair off his face!

@@dinosaure_jr4595the USAAF didn’t arrive in Britain and start flying operations till 1943, the Luftwaffe was already depleted by this point, allied fighters would then gain complete superiority, the B-17 gunners shot down a good few planes but it’s not close to the tens of thousands claimed by allied fighters.

I was deeply saddened to see the young and old, depressed Germans in the finale waking to their doom when the prisoners of war were passing by because these German fellows were forced into this war that they didn’t want to be apart of and the fact that they don’t even believe in the man that they thought was greatest meant that the Germans were at an all time low

Actually it's 'My Country Tis of Thee' that shares the same tune as 'God Save the King'. The Star Spangled Banner has a different tune.

@@AdamantLightLP It’s My Country ‘Tis of Thee. The God Save the King is the one that the original lyrics are so far removed from the original song that nobody can say for certain what it was. The tune however is a common one from Western Europe and the British isles, that most likely has been sung in one form or another over the centuries.
