The hostess did an absolutely fantastic job and was definitely more than just a talking head marketing mouth. Mattel is going all in and super deep on putting their everything behind MOTU and why not since they own the IP and there's such a great history for the brand. This is an amazing set and I really hope it makes it to 10k.

It just hit me. Why are we all upset about king grayskull ? If anything hes now the most controversial figure orther then wonder bread he man ! THANKS MATTEL ! @@sleepyelk5955 yes, i would like more members of the Councle of Elders/wise Zanthor, Zheelar, Zodac, Zodak, Filmations Sprit of the Elders, or any of the others from the UK, MVC minincomics, MYP 200X cartoon or the three we see in Ultimate Battleground Mini comic or the Golden Book I have the Power and Kid Stuff Castle Grayskull book. Perhaps just pick the coolest ones from each media since Origins is its own continuity now.

Multiple people were asking about whether they would include attachments for Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain, but were never answered. The original at least had little bridges that branched off each side. Also they were asking about what (If any) accessories would be included with each figure. None of those questions were answered. I would like to know as well.

This is a real outstanding set, luckily I found it before the crowdfunding ends :) ... and thanks for bring the King back at the 10k tier, this makes it way more easier to decide to pp like me, who didn't know about this project at the beginning. I never thought that this would be possible again and try to forget this set long time ago, because of the painfull prices on ebay. Thanks again, cool move! :)

What was the point of early backers? You made it to where those that ordered in the first 6 days had to pay all up front and the bonus that was supposed to be just for them is now going to be given to everyone. Makes me want to only collect vintage going forward with these greedier than normal tactics.

I'm glad everyone is getting King Grayskull but what shouldn't be overlooked is Mattel laid out terms for a promotion, promised an exclusive item and then changed the rules. Also consider this means they used the same premium to try and achieve sales goals on two different tiers. Early backers like myself also passed on other items that dropped around the same time (Mondo Battlecat) to be able to afford Eternia the first week believing this was the only way to get King Grayskull. I had friends that sold items in their collection to back the first week for the same reason. It's great every gets a figure that should never have been an early bird exclusive but what Mattel did to early backers is atrocious.

I totally agree. They should have just kept King Grayskull as part or the purchase no matter what. I invested in the Mondo a battle cat instead of Eternia but I’m happy everyone that wants on will get one. An Eternia that is…. Some people may still not get king Grayskull unless they break 10k. Silliness.

Im so afraid the new tracks will snap like the old one. I put the eternia set together from the box and when i carefully took the track off. Snap.snap.snap . All tracks snapped ! And i was so careful to . So i wont be setting up the tracks at all on the new set !

Support shop? lol that's a good one. A german KZfaqr got a Castle Grayskull with two A pieces and after a long back and forth with Mattel they told him they can't do anything for him and he used his channel to find someone who has a Castle with two B pieces so they can trade. Expect no costumer service from Mattel in case anything breaks. There will probably be scalpers on eBay who will sell pieces of Eternia for an outrageous amount of money though.

@@stoney81 in the 1980s, they use to send you a free figure if your toy was missing something. I got an extra Clamp Champ sent to me in 1987 because my clamp champ was missing a spring in the mechanism.

Yes. This is my number one criticism! It could have been a rock, or a battlement, or anything else. The Orb and pedestal should be able to be placed wherever you want. I hope its removable! I for one, would have made the lever a stone with a slot for the Power Sword ala Castle Grayskull Front door. Also a reference to Sword in the Stone from aurthian myth that MOTU clearly draws from with the "power sword" being kind of like Excalibur.

A playset that was rare to find even upon its initial release. Bonkers prices on the aftermarket-and good luck even finding one complete or not broken to bits. Not a fan of six flags over Eternia at all but this is certainly not a carbon copy. Bigger than the og, numerous added details, features.

Just saw about the tracks . Basically , once you set it up . Its done. So decide if you want to set up just the single tower or the whole thing . So if you move. You are risking the tracks snapping like the old set . PLEASE FIX THIS ! USE BALL JOINTS WITH CLAPMS ! FOR EVERY PART THAT ATTACHES THE TRACK TO THE SET AND USE MINI MAGNETS THAT ATTACHES THE TRACKS TOGETHER ! they will not break that way . Id rather have that then free figures !

They said previously that the tracks have been designed to break down for storage and for easy reconfiguration so I doubt it's a "one and done".

@@adrionjones i hope so ! I had the vintage one , it was not age that caused the tracks to snap at all . They snap as soon as you try to separate them . My friend had the set for Christmas and when his dad tried to take the tracks apart ,they all snapped . Luckily he just returned it back in the day .

Mattel lowered the QC in 1986/1987 lots of figures malfuctioned and broke earier then the 1982-1985 figures...

I love the set and I was one of the early backers, however this particular livestream event was a lackluster for me; no proper demos of all the vehicles and whether they'd be able to fit the MV figures or not, no proper demo of the interior spaces with the figures, nothing was mentioned about the sticker if they were pre-applied or not, and no extra incentives aside from the previous tiers! I mean extra critters, or even bridge extensions that were shown in the B-Sheet for the other playsets (Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain) could've added some extra appeal! Also the early backers like me who had to pay in full before the early bird tier's deadline (Who had no extra pay options available for them BTW) now left with head scratching questions?!

@@falleneldor I believe most of us who had to pay early on such a short notice had to use their credit cards! I hope they'd rectify the situation with at least a good sizable "discount coupon" to use on future MC purchases...

@@josephk8506 speaky wheel gets the grease. I havent tried to contact customer service since the digital river days. Flashback Oh boy. 🤣😟😖 At least they didnt try and fund this with nothing but an oversized card board cut out. Hahahaha. (I still love my MOTUClassics Grayskull, but old wounds lol)

@@falleneldor Yes, MOTUC has had a lot of painful days for me as well even when S7 took over! However, Mattel Creations' Customer Service is miles better than Digital River's, I've dealt with them a few times already and they were pleasant to deal with. I recommend contacting them by phone, because their email system is still dreadful.

Sorry to tell you this Buddy, but this is a business first and foremost. They want and need those orders and goals met. If they aren't making money they 1.) Can't operate and 2.) Are not going to give stuff away for free.
