Snake Trooper and Slamurai we’re supposed to be in a 1988 wave that got canceled. They were made to be parts swapped with as little new tooling as possible because the line was dying. It’s highly likely that another figure from this wave will be coming this summer as a Mattel creations exclusive. We are getting generic snake men in a on line only 4 pack.

I suspect that Mattel in 1987/8 did not stop to put much thought into why a Snake-Man would have the Horde symbol on their chest - both the text on the back of packaging cross sells and the mini-comics had established the Snake-Men and the Horde as enemies. (Filmation did see both Rattlor and Tung-Lashor turn up at times in the Horde but both the mini-comics and newspaper strips explained this was down to the Snake-Men having been exiled to another dimension and they rejoined King Hiss when he was revived.) Modern Motu fiction has sought to explain the Horde symbol, usually through some form of temporary alliance betwen the two factions during which the Snake Troopers were created. This is explicit in the Classics bios and implicit in the He-Man and the Masters of the Multiverse series.

Let me see if I can help you out with that snake. The snake-men and The horde was at war with each other. After King hiss destroyed a couple horde troopers he decided to send in a couple snake-men dressed as horde troopers to spy on Hordak. When Hordak found out and captured the two spies. And he turned them into cyborgs as punishment. You want to act like a robot I will make you a robot. Even though he destroyed their bodies he could not destroy their minds. So they stayed loyal to King hiss. Or were they just double agents. I'm sure you know these guys came as a con exclusive MOTU Classics triple packed with two hoard trooper snake-men and Slamurai.
