Please. Metal began in the early 70's and it wasn't until 1988 that we got our own category. Nineteen eighty-fuckin-eight: Slayer released South of Heaven, Death released Leprosy, Maiden released Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and there were also releases by Anthrax, Megadeth and Ozzy. Not that it mattered because apparently to the grammys Iggy Pop, AC/DC and Jane's Addiction are more metal than Maiden and Slayer. Good bands, don't get me wrong, but not metal. At least they nominated Metallica who were still one of the best metal bands in the world at the time, again not that it mattered because they gave the grammy to Jethro Tull. Nothing against Jethro Tull, good band, but some dude jumping around playing a flute is not metal.

Haven't watched that thing in I don't know how long. Much prefer buying the music of the bands and performers I like. But man I loved the outfits. Someone should do a Monty Python and Holy Grail theme for outfits- as Arthur and the Black Knight....oh that would be too much fun- do that and crash the pop country crap portion of the show
