I went to the match....the West Brom manager is a big Sheffield Wednesday fan and saw an opportunity to throw some dirt towards Sheffield United. West Brom were leading 3-0 when the ref abandoned the match. Megson then accused Warnock of asking his players to pretend to be injured so the match would be abandoned meaning the match would need to be replayed. Why would Warnock want a replay? We were mid table with nothing to play for....also at no time after the match did Warnock suggest the match should be replayed. Megson tried to build it up into a bigger news story than it was. The match wasn’t replayed and the final score was officially recorded as a 3-0 win for West Brom. Also 2 of the players sent off never played for Sheff Utd again.

Total rubbish from Michael Brown. Their keeper got sent off for a ‘deliberate’ handball. George Santos then ‘deliberately’ tried to break Andy Johnson in half, Patrick Suffo ‘deliberately’ head butted WBA player, WBA 3-0 up and cruising. And to hear him say they didn’t ‘deliberately’ try and get the game abandoned is a joke.

Anyone who witnessed the assault by Andy Johnson on George Santos and seen the horrendous injuries he inflicted on him (he could have been severely disfigured facially for the rest of his life) would fully understand George Santos going for some form of revenge. Quite frankly, Johnson got off lightly suffering just a two-footed tackle. Warnock was daft for giving Santos the opportunity to do it, but if I'd been in George's boots I think I'd have been tempted to put that thug in his place too.

football needs a rule whereby any reckless challenges resulting in serious injuries would result in the perpetrator being banned for the same amount of time needed for recovery. and if someone never recovers, so be it. the perpetrator should be banned for life.

It was fixed. West Bromwich Albion where hammering sheff utd. Wornock new the rules and had 6 players left with means the game gets called off and replayed.

The game doesn't get replayed when a team is left with 6 players only, it is given as a 3-0 loss. Especially having in mind Sheffield had like 3 players sent off in that match.

I think Warnock wanted the match called off but I don't think he wanted it replayed. I'm a Sheff United fan and love Warnock but he loved this sort of thing. He often subbed players on to get sent off or to punch someone. He did it once because he knew Keith Gillespie hated Steven Hunt. Gillespie was sent off 10 second after coming on.

3:24. Even the presenter could see the red flags. The mentality, attitude, and lack of responsibility from the Sheffield United manager and players that day was unbelievable and a disgrace. Brown's blasé attitude here pretty much sums it up. They were a bottom half team with nothing to lose who then utilized a match against a rival (who at that point were chasing promotion) to settle old scores and engineer chaos once the game went beyond them. Classic Warnock tactics.
