Fannie scores her 7th H/H match today to end this week on a high note. This brings her up to a 50% success rate, in a tie with Betty White! (But Betty still has the edge based on a larger number of total matches.) Jo Ann will have to wait for another shot at the H/H match... Here's the updated leader board showing the 10 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: TIE: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE Betty - 50% (13 wins in 26 attempts). TIE Fannie - 50% (7 wins in 14 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 35.5% (70 wins in 197 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Brett - 32.1% (9 wins in 28 attempts). Since this is episode 400, it's time for a full recap: Here are all the celebs with 2 matches (in alphabetical order): Charlie Brill 2 out of 3 tries (66.7%) Bill Daily 2 out of 2 tries (100%) Ann Elder 2 out of 3 tries (66.7%) Stu Gilliam 2 out of 5 tries (40%) Jack Klugman 2 out of 5 tries (40%) 14 more celebs currently have one head-to-head match (in alphabetical order): Don Adams 1 out of 1 attempt Morey Amsterdam 1 out of 2 Gary Burghoff 1 out of 2 Jack Carter 1 out of 3 Carolyn Jones 1 out of 1 Michael Landon 1 out of 2 June Lockhart 1 out of 1 Allen Ludden 1 out of 3 Madlyn Rhue 1 out of 2 Kaye Stevens - 1 out of 3 Loretta Switt 1 out of 2 Trish Stewart 1 out of 1 Richard Thomas 1 out of 2 Bobby Van 1 out of 3 *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 400, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

16:47 Brett: "Oh, pee-yew!" I think Brett pretty much sums up everyone's thoughts about that Lone Ranger question and Gene's awful "Lone Stranger" answer. I feel sorry for the poor challenger who chose that stinker! The Lone Mugger wasn't great, but it was the best of a bad lot of possibilities.

Mad Magazine had hit its peak circulation in the early '70's and Alfred E. Neuman was a well known fictional character. As easy and obvious as it might seem, it was just as plausible an answer. Fannie Flagg had even brought up Alfred on a prior show, so it's never as clear cut as it seems.

The question about lone ranger going to New York was terrible. The writers should have been fired. Everybody were confused, the celebrities, contestants and the audience. Even Gene was confused but he didn't want to show it and accept it. He never criticized the questions. He criticized the celebrities and the contestants calling them dummies. IT was the questions and the writers who wrote them were super dumb.
@sdlively274 жыл бұрын
No, late MG74 he say a question was rotten and didn't believe anyone would even get the answer they trying to get. According to Gene he had a argument with the Ira, I guessing, before the show taping. It was about You heard of Monte Hall well India ver of Match Game is hosted by blank Hall or something alone that lines. Richard was the only one that got the answer the writers were look for, Montazooma Hall, but Gene though it was a rotten question. I think he has called some of the MG77 question rotten as well..
