Noah and Chloe, exactly right. Love seeing Geelong fans cry after a loss. Not as awesome as watching power fans cry but it’s still amazing.

sk8foryellow That'll happen everytime with a young team. The reason we got away with so many last year and the year before is we had the experienced players marshalling the troops. Guys like Bartel, Enright, Lonergan, Mackie and Taylor (out with injury) would of told the youngsters what to do when the game got tight. Not to mention if we had Taylor, Henderson, Parfitt, Ablett, Menzel, S Selwood, Cockatoo and Guthrie. Could of been a very different outcome.

we had our stars out too, like buddy, hannebery, naismith, reid, melican and towers. We still played good footy and stayed strong all four quarters, even with our new young side. We played a debutant who kicked two goals and was probably 3rd bog for swans. If you're a good team, you should be able to play without relying on the same people every week. Not saying Geelong aren't good (they are probably top 4 quality) but you can't use injuries and retirement as an excuse for losing.

Gabi Denham First of all, Hannebery and Buddy are the only players you listed who anyone would consider as stars. The rest are bang average. Also, you say you can't use injuries or retirement as an excuse. So what else do you use? So from your point of thinking, if you took Grundy, Parker, Buddy, Kennedy, and Rampey out of the Swans, and they lost, you wouldn't blame injury? You can't tell me that losing nearly 2000 games of experience through Injury and Retirement isn't going to change a team, which is what the Cats are going through right now. The Cats had 9 players who are under or around 30 games and 4 of them with 5 games to their name. Coming up against one of the oldest and most experienced teams in the competition. I'm honestly proud of how the young guys performed, they were our highlight. And strangely, it was guys like Dangerfield and Selwood who needed to lift. People don't seem to remember Geelong have played close to the youngest team in the competition in the last month apart from Carlton and Brisbane. Promising signs for the future for Cats fans.

Daniel Jarmann I agree with Reid. But he's injured so often that his rating doesn't really matter. And Naismith is a slightly above average Ruckman. Wouldn't call any of them "Stars" as the other person said.
