Kyle got in touch by email to ask for a surprise 80s commission piece. The car could be of my choosing. Personally, my go-to 1980s icon is the Countach. But, having only just finished one, the second car that pops into my head is the Testarossa.
I picked up a battered, faded and yellowed Matchbox Ferrari for this task. It was in a poor state. But with a new lick of paint, some subtle detailing and some added tailpipes, this Testarossa has been transformed. I hope Kyle likes it. I am jealous he gets to keep this one!

judging by what happens at 1:32 I think this was the 1988-89 color changers :-)

The Testarossa was the dream car for every kid in the block (but I remained a Countach/Diablo fan😊)...great job on this Testarossa 😊👍👍

nicely done, love the extra detailing. :) most of these details get drowned in paint otherwise. :) let me add another version of this casting: one where you can flip the roof , from coupe to convertible. part of a series with only a handful of models, and pretty short-lived, too. found one at a flea market by accident. :) the side fins became so iconic they ended up on a lot of custom cars' flanks. german customizer Koenig Special was notorious for putting them onto every vehicle they get paid for to do it. XD

Wish I’d added it to the description so it is easier to remember! Looking at the tyres being those smooth (and a bit rubbish) 3d printed type, they would have been from Diecast Dreams Custom Parts on eBay. I imagine they still produce the same type
